Drainage Seepage Three Weeks Post Op

Has anyone had any drainage and redness three weeks after c-section? I knew that it had been hurting like a bee sting in one area, but I just noticed the drainage on my panties where they touch the incision. I know this sounds horrible, but I dug thru my laundry basket and at least three days worth of panties has drainage marks on them. Has anyone else experienced drainage three weeks out.

Hi there, By 3 weeks i would have thought it should be completely sealed over and well into recovery. i have had 3 sections and by then they were healed. I would have it looked at by your dr, the last thing you want is infection. Good luck

I had that, but I think it was at 2 weeks. It was yellow and left a mark in my panties and the area was pink and raw-looking (sorry if TMI). Anyway, at that point I called my OBGYN and they said it sounded ok and I didn't go in, but for three weeks, it's probably worth a trip in just in case. Good luck:)

Great question. My doctor put steri-strips on both sides of my incision when I had to see her for other issues after one week. I am at about 2 1/2 weeks and I saw a little blood this morning too. I hope I'm healing correctly. I think that you get a fever if you have an infection, so as long as you don't have that you, you may be fine. But I feel those little stings too and felt a little sting when I touched the spot where the blood must have come from. I plan to just check in with the nurse in the office just to be sure I don't have to worry.

I called my doctor's office this afternoon. My doctor is on vacation, but I spoke to her nurse. She said that if my doctor was in, she would have probably wanted to see me, but since I wasn't running a fever it could wait until Monday. She told me to clean it once a day with peroxide and apply neosporin 2x a day over the weekend. She said to call them Monday and let them know if it was looking better. She said I may have worn something that rubbed the incision and opened it up a bit. So we will just have to wait and see what it looks like after a weekend of babying it.

Hi I had my second baby on July 19th. a little over 3 weeks ago. My incision is also bumpy, slightly leaky, and red and swollen in one spot, about dime sized. I went to the doctor a couple days ago and they told me it was inflamed and to watch it, if it gets worse they would start antibiotics. Well I have sort of figured out what I did to cause this. About a week and a half ago everything was pretty much okay, so I wore my new daughter in a sling and went for a long walk with older son around the block. The next day it opened and started draining. It healed sort of so about 4 days ago I put back on the sling and now this is what I have... I guess no more sling for quite a few weeks. Its so hard with having a 15 month old also and trying to carry her around. I love the sling..lol.. it doesnt love me.l.....
