How Long Did You Wait In Between C Sections

I just had my daughter almost 3 weeks ago. I attempted to have a VBAC, but it just wasn't meant to be for me, I guess. Anyway, my doctor said to wait about 15 months to start trying for baby number 3 so that way it would be at least 2 years in between sections. My husband has severe male factor, and we just miraculously keep getting pregnant. We were thinking more like starting around the 8 month mark. It took us 18 cycles to get pregnant with baby number 2. So, I am just wondering if what he said is pretty standard across the board or if this is also one of those things that varies by doctors. Right now we have kind of decided to start at 12 months instead of 15. We want to be safe, but I kind of wanted to be finished making babies by the time I am 30. I am 26 now. Thanks!

My Dr. told me to wait 6 months. He said he has patients get preggo sooner and are fine though...

I was on bc and got prego unexpectedly after only 3 months, and that happened twice. One pregnancy being twins. I am fine. With my last pregnancy, I got prego 1 year after my last c-section. My dr. said everythings looks great, even with them being so close, and that I could still have more if I wanted.

My first two were 3 1/2 years apart, but #s 2 and 3 were only 17 months apart. The recovery was about the same with #3 as it was with #2.

... I should add that I was never told to wait. If there's a medical reason your doc wants you to wait, you should... if it's just his "preference" for spacing then I wouldn't.

Thank you for the input everyone. Sahmof3, I don't have any medical issues. It is just my doc's preference. I think we will go ahead with the 8 month idea. Thanks again everyone!

DownbutnotOUT, I want to have 3 or 4 children as well. Is #4 your last? Did your recoveries get harder? I guess I would be taking a gamble starting to try at 8 months since it is possible that we could get pregnant immediately. It just took us so long last time that I don't realy have any hope that this would happen. Realistically I am hoping that if we start trying at 8 months then maybe we'll be pregnant by 15 months.
