I was given meds during my C-section that apparantly affected my memory of the event and I'm wondering if it's a common experience or not?

I had spinals with my first two. I don't remember a lot about the first, but I'm thinking that was more from exhaustion (it followed a 24 hour labor). I didn't have any memory problems with the second, but I was very sleepy and comfy because I had anti-nausea meds and then anti-itch meds. I can imagine that those meds could affect people differently! I have no memory of my third baby's birth because I was under general anesthesia.

I cannot remember parts of both my kids births- they were both c-sections. After the first, and discovering I couldn't remember much, I a__sumed the second, the planned one, I would remember. I remember more of it, but not all. It sucks.

I had a planned c and I remember everything until he came out then they gave me drugs and the next thing I know my Doctor was saying to me "Your all done!" I woke up the next morning and voila! there was the baby.

Unfortunately, I felt my c/s!!!! So, after they got him out, they gave me a med called Versed (conscious sedation) and I fell asleep. I do not remember anything except screaming before he was born. I woke up in recovery and my husband told me we had a boy - we did not know beforehand

i do know there is a drug that they can give you where you are awake during the procedure at habnd but will not remember anything afterward. i thought this was BS to say the least but I took a medical course and they mentioned te drug and also a lady in my cla__s had been given the drug for a surgical procedure more than once. Hope that helps.
