Pregnancy After Incisional Hernia Repair

I just had my hernia repaired last week and found out I am 4 weeks pregnant. Is anyone else dealing with this? My doctor told me to wait 8 months to a year to get pregnant in order to heal correctly. I'm worried!

Sorry ..but I don't know too much about the hernia. Will you be having a 5th c-section?

Actually, the fourth I'm blessed with is the one I am pregnant with now, but yes, I plan to have a c-section with this one because of my prior c-section and I don't want to worry about uterine rupture. I had v____al births with the first 2.

I don't know the answer, but I hope it all works out for you. I had an inguinal hernia repair and I forgot to tell the doctor that did my first c-section (it was an emergency section and he didn't have time to look up my med history and when he asked about previous surgeries I totally blanked and forgot about that one)... he was not happy to find himself cutting into scar tissue, but I healed fine... BUT... my hernia operation and scar were from when I was 3 years old. Anyway, sorry about the tangent... probably by the time of your c-section your hernia scar will be well healed!
