Ok, I had my c-section 9 weeks ago, and I healed up fine and have no pain what so ever. My problem is that after my 6 week check-up my dr gave the green light to go ahead and have s_x.......well, I did and when dh & I have s_x it burns (like a UTI) and it feels so tight that it hurts too....we keep trying and it still hurts! Is it supposed to burn, feel extremely tight after a c-section? I know that I don't have an infection b/c I would see it, feel it, and I've never had an STD, so we can pretty much forget about that......not sure what's going on??? Any advice, please?? I feel like my s_x life is ruined now.

It feels that way because your insides were thrashed about during the very un-gentle c-section. Your urethra could have been injured during both the surgery and/or the catheterization. Your insides could have formed adhesions and scar tissue and that tissue does NOT stretch. This is why I had a VBAC, and woon't have another C unless it is absolutely, without a doubt, required. Hope you heal, talk to your doc as soon as possible.

It's probably been a while since you had s_x, the six weeks at least, but maybe longer if you had a complicated pregnancy. Remember how it hurt the first few times you had s_x, until your body was used to it? If it's been a few months you could be feeling like that again. Also, after you have a baby your hormone levels are changing a lot, which can cause v____al dryness. You also might be tired from the round the clock baby chores, and stressed out by being a new mom. I would suggest trying it again, going slow, maybe having a drink first to relax, and using lube if you need it. If you can leave the baby with a sitter for a couple of hours that might help you relax, too...you'll know that you won't be disturbed in the middle of things by the baby waking up, and you won't feel like you need to hurry as much. Your s_x life isn't ruined, it might just take a little work to get it back on track.

also if you are b___stfeeding you can be awfully dry and 'gritty' feeling. Your body does what it can to prevent you from having another baby right away, that is one of the natural methods. If you had labor before your c-section you also might still just have some soreness or swelling around your cervix. Using a lubricant will help get you back on track. Good luck.
