Usually the doctor will say to wait 6 weeks, to prevent infections. That's the same reason you can't use tampons. I waited 10 days after my first c-section and it wasn't that great but nothing bad happened to me. I waited 3 weeks after my second c-section and it was more comfortable.

My doc told me 6 weeks also. I waited 5 weeks and it was a bit uncomfortable but got better in a week or so.

I had the cesarean three weeks ago and was just wondering if it was safe to have a___l s_x. Are there any risks involved?

My God, you're brave...I sure wasn't up to that 3 weeks after I had my kids. It should be as safe as it ever is, as long as you're not having problems with painful bm's (kind of common after c-sections).

Ummm....I probably wouldn't do that so soon after any method of childbirth. Your cervix may still have a slight dilation due to pregnancy. Keep in mind, if any of the microscopic fecal matter gets introduced into your v____a even by just proximity it could cause a horrible uterine infection. One needs to remember that while a cut or opening isn't visible to the naked eye, it is still as large as the Grand Canyon to bacteria and viruses...and E. Coli lives and thrives in the a___l ca___l. I would wait at least 6 weeks for that type of s_x although I personally haven't done it all. How's the baby?
