Should It Be Burning

I had my second c-section 4 weeks ago and am still having quite a bit of pain. My mobility is still limited and I have trouble getting up and down. My biggest concern is the burning pain I feel just on the right side around my incision. Its extremely painful to cough, sneeze, laugh, etc. Is this normal or should I call my doc?

As long as you are not doing more than the recommended level of activity (no lifting anything heavier than your baby, limited use of stairs, minimal driving, etc.), the burning sensation is within the range of recovery time. I know it's hard, but you need much more time to heal completely. I didn't feel totally mobile till the 10th week postpartum. Get help with housework and chores, and try and rest as much as you can. Oh, and do try and walk (slowly) everyday. Helps the healing. For the coughing, hold a cushion against your stomach to soften the pressure.
