Surgery

I've had major heart surgery about 8 yrs ago. And i'm also on high blood pressure meds. I'm nervous of pushing. The only reason is... fear of putting too much pressure on the graft piece that's attached in my aorta. Do you feel this is grounds for asking for a cesarean section?

I would say so. I had high blood pressure in my pregnancy and had to have a c-section. Has your doctor not discussed the possibility at all? If not, I would speak to him/her about it.

No, I haven't mentioned it to her yet. I wanted some advice first. I did speak to my cardiologist about it briefly. And at the time he said.. he didn't see any reason why I couldn't just have a v____al birth. It's not the pain of the labor I'm nervous about. It's the pushing and strain on the heart. I'm hoping that the Ob Gyn will feel differently about it. It should be my choice. Right?

I would definitely consult your doctor. You're pregnancy is probably high-risk and therefore I'd imagine your doctor might even suggest a C-section.
