Uterus Going Back To Noraml

I had my post surgery check up the other day at 7 weeks. The dr. said that my uterus seemed a little hard and had not went back to normal yet. She said if I it is not better in 3 weeks she will do an ultrasound. Anyone ever heard of this. How will I know if it is back? I don't have pain or anything. She said to only call if I have problems. I didn't really understand what she was saying. Any advise?

this is not uncommon...they would like for it to go back to normal at the hospital and thats why you are given a med to make your uterus contract, however, this doesnt always happen for all women. i wouldnt worry about it i am sure it is fine....as far as an ultrasound in 3 weeks she will probably be looking for infection, tissue left in the uterus...these things...but again this is not abnormal and it will probably be fine....if you have an unusual discharge or pain i would call her....
