I am pregnant for the second time, I had a 5 year old son, when he was born I had to have an emergency c-section..I am just wondering if anyone has had a c-section then had a natural birth? what are my chances of having to have another c-section?

I think a lot probably depends on where you live. I live in a no choice state. Once a section always a section due to our state's largest malpractice insurers refusing since Jan 1, 2005 to cover drs to do VBACs.

Cabbie- which state do you live in... if you don't mind saying on here. I'm in PA., and while we still have a choice (if you find the right doc (and good luck on that !?!)) it probably won't be for long. Many docs are leaving the state to practice medicine because the malpractice insurance is crazy!!

I'm in OK. More and more states are going to this type of practice. I would have chosen repeat c's anyway, but it stinks that that chose has been taken away from others. Here unless you show up to the hospital with that babies head already crowning, drs have to do a repeat c no matter what if they don't want to be dropped from their malpractice. I had three WONDERFUL section experiences with the last being the best (nothing more than ibuprofen (and two at that)after being taken of my IV), and three will be it for me because my OB informed me after my last delivery that due to the scar tissue from the previous c's and the stretching of my uterus from bigger babies, my uterus is very thin and she isn't sure I could carry another one. I have had three miscarriages in my life and don't want to go through that again!

Hi girls, I live in australia and here I think women get a choice but the doctor will suggest a c-section if they think that you can not do it naturally, they go on what scar tissue you have and under what circ_mstances you had the last c-section. I am actually wanting to know if anyone has actually had a c-section then had a natural birth. I so DO NOT want another c-section, they suck I would much rather to it naturally and experience all the things that happen right after the birth. I wanna here the baby cry for the first time, and all that great stuff.
