I am going to the ob on Wed, but I really feel that I have adhesions from my c section 6 months ago. Lately I have had pain in the area of my c/s and it is almost like what it felt like right after the birth. I also have been bleeding (some days light some heavy) since the birth. (yeh all 61/2months) Is that from the adhesions? What can they do to treat them? Surgery sounds silly since you get them from surgery. My c/s went so well, (and yes, I am still glad I had it) I don't know why I am getting these pains now. Anyone had these before?

Yes, and I got the terrible heavy periods that led to a host of other problems. I am glad you are still happy you had the section, but as you may have read before I hated mine and what they did to my body. Check with your doc and they will probably tell you it is not adhesions, they usually do. Just keep track of the type of pains, pulling, pinching feelings and watch for signs of bladder adhesions: urgency, spasms, frequency without fever or burning or pain. Also, you may get constipation problems you didn't have before. If you do have adhesions they should stop forming in about a year or two and you will have what you have. Good luck, I am sorry if you are starting to get the downsides of c-sections.

djh, are you on any birth control? I am on depo and my periods used to stop completely, now even with depo they have not, and I wonder if this is caused by the possible adhesions. The reson I say I am still glad I had my c/s is because i wouldnt have even gotten pregnant if I had to go natural, (my own fears) so I will accept what happens, I am sorry yours went so badly. I just want to make sure that nothing is going to happen to me that is really dangerous, the pain is bad, but I just fear something could tear or I could hemorage. I don't know what to expect. (I almost lost my mom from a hysterectomy, she hemoraged, so I fear stuff like this). So did your adhesions cause other problems and did the doctors do anything for you?

Man DeeJay, I almost hesitate here to tell all. I am no longer on birth control because a few years ago I couldn't take the monthly HEAVY bleeding, labor like contractions to pa__s clots and bladder issues anymore. So I did have to have a hysterectomy, including my ovaries due to scar tissue and adhesions. Are you ok to continue reading? If so, when my OB/GYN got in there she found my bladder adhered to my uterus, my colon adhered to the backside of the uterus and my ovaries and tubes were slightly pulled down by a couple small bands of scar tissue. Keep in mind, I did have four c-sections in four years, so that does impact it to some degree. There are some risks to the bladder and colon. My adivice is since you have only had one that you probably have minimal adhesions and should ask your doctor about the risks of forming more. Be vigilant about your bowel and bladder function, change in your menstrual cycle such as heavy clots, etc, increased pain in your abdomen or new problems with GI pain and or inability to eliminate poop. Good luck, I will check back soon.,
