It's a lot easier, and you feel like you're more in control of the whole process. I had a repeat c-section in August. They give you a time to show up at the hospital (usually they tell you to call first in case they're busy), you show up, they ask questions, start the iv, have you drink that antacid, and then it's time for the operation. I was really scared...I didn't have time to be scared during my first c-section, but I had time to get scared about the second. I think it's probably safer than an emergency c, especially an emergency one when they put you to sleep instead of just using a spinal or epidural. For one thing, since it's scheduled, it's not in the middle of the night, and the doc will have had more rest. I don't know how it is for everyone, but my recovery was a lot easier...probably because it was just the operation, not all sorts of stuff beforehand.

Hi Clair, I unfortunately had more problems with my subsequent c-secions than with my first. With each c/s you form more scar tissue so your recoveries may or may not be easier. The fact that my uterus got tired of being both pregnant and cut became too much so I ended up with a hysterectomy, oopherectomy and bladder repair. I am unusual in that i had 4 c-sections in exactly 4 years, but the scarring occured starting with the first. I had issues that I do not think you need to hear at this point. The BIGGEST point is, however, that with a good doctor, good facility, good after-care and lots of love, you and your baby will get through this and with the grace of God will be just fine:>) so don't worry, take your pain meds, have help and just think every day will improve. Best wishes for a safe and smooth delivery, many women do just fine with their scheduled c-sections!!!!
