Yes i have they put me back in the hospital and had to pack it and clean it daily they said it was due to an infection in the uterus. if i were you i would go back and have them check it out you might end up with something more serious if you dont

I had a c-section 6 months ago. I have never had an infection. The scar has healed nicely. Recently I have been having sharp pains on one side of the scar. I am concerned. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I had my third C-section on 11-4-05 and I am up doing things. My incision is fine. Before I left the hospital the doc removed my staples. That didn't hurt. I am having no problems with infections. I think that having staples is better then just using st_tches. Hope everyone feels better and enjoy your new beautiful babies. Amanda

to Kay...I had the same problem after my first c-section. I thought it was a hernia, but my doctor couldn't feel one. When I had my second c-section, he said it was a weakness in the connective tissue that had caused the pain.

I had a c-section four weeks ago for the birth of my first child. It was an emergency. The healing process has been rough. they did use staples on me. I have a weird pocket of inflamed red skin undermy incision and then started draining. It seemed with my twice a week doctor's visit and an ultrasound it was getting better, however I am having a lot of pain on the inside (maybe the muscle) on the right side only! The doctor told me that even though this area is red and inflamed that it is not infected. Now I have the flu and coughing is excruciating.

Debbie I feel for you, just coughing not having a flu is painful, I don't know if anyone knew this but most women don
t have their muscles sewn back together after a c section mainly because a lot of dr's are to lazy to do it, but on my last c section, the dr I had did sew them back, It helps a lot with the healing..I healed so much faster and better with this pa__s section than I did with my first 5 yrs ago..Take care to all

Yes, I've had that happen to me after my first child. The healing process does take awhile, but you should be feeling better in the next week or so. Also remember, the more you move the faster your body will heal. I know it sounds crazy, but its very much true!

My whole lower abdamen was hard as a rock even the top of my pubic area. my incision opened up and I had 2 holes that needed to be packed 3xs a day. I know the pain and frustration. I still have 2litle hols and some hardning and I wounder the same thing will it ever go away.

LADIES, LISTEN CAREFULLY!!!! Believe it or not, most doctors do not look for CA-MRSA in c-section patients. It is now near epidemic in the general population and it only responds to 2-3 antibiotics, one is IV Vancomycin, the other is clinidine (sp?) and perhaps Septra 4xstrength. A sample of your pus or discharge must be cultured in the lab and it takes 3 days to see if it is Community Acquired Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus. Very important that you get tested for this as well as it is contagious and the staph can literally colonize in people and while they will no longer have infectious symptoms they CAN give it to others in close contact with them and the surfaces they touch. Make your doctors test you for this and don't let them tell you it cant be...most wound infections that don't go away and other sores that are mistaken for cellulitis, spider bites, etc. are in fact, CA-MRSA. Good luck.

Thank you, nurse Maisy! I kept after my doctor saying my incision should not have a hole with blood and pus coming out 3 months after my c-section! He kept saying we just need to take the keflex and pack the wound so painful and torturous! I wrote down what you said about MRSA and he did a culture and exactly 3 days later, just like you said, it came back MRSA!!!! He instantly put me on iv-vancomycin for 4 days in hospital, then sent me home with clinidine. I look and feel so much better and I actually see rapid healing. THANKYOU SO MUCH, MAISY, YOU SAVED MY LIFE!!! I love you with all my heart as I am getting my life and my body back. My husband sends his best regards.
