I was told the same thing and have delivered 6 babies v____ally. There is NO WAY he can tell you now that you need a c-section. The only way to know is to try. Docotrs use that excuse way to much. GL!

I had my 1st c-section in December of 2004. It was an emergency c-sec due to the fact that my little girl wasn't fitting through my pelvic area and every time I had a contraction and tried to push, her heartbeat would drop. I actually told my Dr. at the beginning of that pregnancy that every woman in my family has had to have a c-section due to either the baby not fitting through the pelvic area or failure to dialate. My Dr advised me that I would still have to try going through the whole labor process before they would be able to tell me whether I needed a c-section. In the end I ended up having an emergency c-sec. I am due in October with DD # 2 and we have already spoken about a scheduled c-sec.
