There Are Too Many C Sections Going On

No, but we can certainly ask that people not duplicate the hostility that took over the other forum can't we? Your opinion is just as valued as anyone else's, as long as you don't take pot shots at people or use sarcasm. Those att_tudes diminish the discussion and only allow the most aggressive posters to have their say. Some of us want a non-hostile environment in which to share without personal attacks or one-sided positions only. It is perfectly fine to think that there is no problem with the increase in c-sections, but there also is a justifiable cause for concern that so many women seem to "need" them now, women who going in didn't even choose an elective c...that is the gist of this forum, WHY??? What happened to women's pelvises? That is what this forum is about, we even added why all the cutting of women down below too, for those who have a strong feeling about v____al sections as well. All friends here, if you'd like to be. Ok?

Hello, ladies, I had my first child by c-section, for shady reasons I must say...I hated it and it was an awful, painful experience. I insisted on attempting a VBAC and met all the usual protestations, dangers of rupture (1%), better to plan it, yadda yadda. I didn't buy it and my husband, an MD said he would support me either way. Friday evening my water broke, 7 hours later I delivered v____ally without any problems my beautiful second daughter, Chloe!!!!! With careful monitoring at home and then at the hospital it was without a doubt a fantastic experience! Sooooo much better than my cesarean. I am already home, moving around just fine, no pain meds, able to care for my children, only need to rest for nighttime feedings. I know now, however, how it feels to be very swollen and sore down there, not fun, but given the whole picture, this VBAC far exceeded my expectations. Good luck, ladies if you were told you needed a c-section and you don't believe all your births must be that way. Just be smart about it.

Gemma,as been said before this is not about which you prefer, but why so many are being done.I think it is great women has the choice, for many the thought of labour pain, the unknown, and the thought that throught tthat they may end up with an emergency anyway,is enough for women to choose it,rather than risk it.Others prefer to have an operation, rather than be cut down below, and you can have an infection down there.I accepted that there will be pain either way,but was pleased with my section experience.

C sections..... so long and painful to get over. I had no choice but to have both my 2 children by c section though i did spend hours of labour with my daughter to prevent it and it ended wiv an emergancy. My son was planned...yet another bad experiance which took my ages to get over because my daughter was only 14 mths old and i felt terrible because i couldnt even lift her up without the strain on my scar. I hate the fact that some people opt for c sections because they think its an easy way out of labour... lol..... yea ok u dont have the labour pains but u do have a huge scar... ur unable to cough, sneeze and omg laughing is out of the question for about 3-6 weeks after the op. Even doing stuff like cleaning up is hard. So if anyone is thinking about having a c section as an easy way out please just remember u have to put up with so much more after and its hard to concentrate on spending time with your baby as half the time you are in constant pain..... Oh yea and one more thing. I didnt realise how often stomache mussles were used untill my c sections lol.

I have just looked on this site, first time today.I have two children, the first was via c-section.Ok I was in pain in recovery, but I could cope.My 2nd baby, born last january, the same month as my first was a natural birth.I found the whole even very painful.I wanted to try a natural delivery, but I hated it,plus the fact my daughter has spent nearly a year being fed via a tube, only two weeks ago could we bring her home.I am not saying it was because of the natural way,but am sure that did not help.My first daughter looked all beautiful,my second, you could see like me,she had a rough begining to her life.People it seems, critisise when it affects them, like me I suppose, but honestly,I cannot understand why women are really moaning about a c-section,how many deaths are there?I would like to know.

Hopefully none, but that is not the case. The main thrust of the forum is that in the natural order of things, a very large percentage of women and babies are equiped to handle labor and v____al delivery just fine...that is just a biological fact, with that in mind, why in my circle of friends, did 4 out of 5 "have to have a c-section"? That is just not okay, if a woman wants one, fine, but these women I know did not go in wanting a c-section and yet after interventions, monitors, drugs, etc. almost every one of them had to have a surgical birth. My friends are now questioning the "reasons" for them...how could that many people in our small circle have such birthing issues...just food for thought. I almost "had to have a c-section" because I allowed "modern birthing techniques" to take over my natural process and since i had a previous perfect v____al birth with a same sized baby, the only thing different was all the modern miracles that are now standard care. I strongly feel that is the main cause of all this sudden "need" for c-sections. I know they save lives and suffering in some cases, but I do not want to fall victim without just cause. Thanks for your post.
