It's allergy season and I am so stuffed up it's making me miserable. I am also pregnant. Does anyone know if there are any "safe" allergy medicines out there for pregnant women. Or any natural remedy would be great too...

Oh also my doctor gave me samples of rhinocourt nasal spray for allergies and it saved my life!! Ask your doctor about those they work well for me.

My doctor also gave me Zyrtec. I think you can take Benadryl too.

I and my ob-gyn, who is also pregnant, have been taking claritin or the generic version. I've also taken Benadryl, which I saw the American Family Physician's website - www.aafp.org/afp - is fine.

Claritin (or any store's generic), Benadryl (or any store's generic), Chlo-Trimeton (or any store's generic) are all over the counter and okay by my doctor's office. Last week I had a helluva time with my allergies, and at this week's appointment I asked if anything else was okay. My dr. said Flonase is okay (I already had an Rx) and that Zyrtec is okay (you need an Rx for this too). But every doctor will tell you something different. Be sure to check with yours! I try to be a tree-hugger, but I would not go with natural stuff, because there usually are no studies done to support it. Good luck, and stock up on Kleenex!
