Bipolar Meds During Pregnancy

I am wanting to become pregnant, but I'm not sure what to due about my meds. I have asked my obgyn and psychiatrist and they kind of say, well all the effects are not yet known. I have found some info on the web,but am hoping to connect with someone else who has been through this, (and maybe has better doctors than mine)! The drugs I am specifically interested in are lithium, Seroquel, Wellbutrin, and Ambien. Thanks in advance for any help!

I know Wellbutron is SUPPOSED to be safe. I was on a bunch of this stuff and was ttc for quite a while. I decided to go off them all (without approval from my doc) It was hell, but I did it and now have a healthy beautiful 18 month old daughter. I just couldn't deal with the unknown effects of all these drugs and it turns out I'm much better off of them. It's been over 2 years that I have had no meds. You may want to try it, good luck! I also know that Lithium is a__sociated with heart defects.

Ambien is no no and all sleeping prescription drugs. I never heard of Seroquel. I don't know about lithium either. I just found out I'm pregnant with my 2nd. I stopped Paxil immediately but planning to go back once I deliver. I did it with my 1st too.

Let me know what you find out. I am on xanax, effexor and ritalin and am still deciding what to do.
