I am very frustrated with my weight gain during this pregnancy. I gained 50 pounds with my first pregnancy so this time I am really trying hard to watch what I eat and not eat a lot of fast food. I am also walking about 1 mile 3-5 times per week. I don't really exercise when I am not pregnant so this should be helping but it isn't. I gained four pounds in four weeks and I am dreading my Dr. appt. this week to know how much more I have gained. I look much further along than I am. My friend who is a week ahead of me is actually loosing weight and barely looks pregnant. I know she does not exercise and I don't think we eat that different. Any suggestions.

Good on you for exersizing, just think of how much more you would have put on if you did not walk. I too walk 4-5 days for half an hour at a time, I have put on a bit round my back and hips, but am thankfull because last pregnancy I was twice as big because I did not walk or watch my diet. They say that the fitter you are the easer the birth and the quicker you will lose the extra weight afterwards.
