I know that smoking is harmful to pregnancy, but what are the direct implication?

It's a great time to quit. You can do anything you put your mind to. I would look at all the GOOD implications of quitting, less at risk for all complications, can safe money, live longer, a good example to your future child. Glad to see you do care. I know it is hard to do, and I wish you much luck with quitting and with your new baby!

Somking delivers over 3000 chemicals to the baby which can cause slow growth and increase of asthma, allergies and liklihood of the child smoking in life increases. It is best to cut down or try give up and never smoke around teh baby when it is born. I gave up smoking in my pregnancy. Good luck!

Smoking also increases the chances of SIDS, problems with your baby's lung development and complications during pregnancy and child birth. I too was a smoker until I found out I was pregnant. After reading the phrase, "your filling your womb up with smoke," I was so turned off by the mental picture that I quit. Unbelievably I have no cravings, and feel so much better about myself. I know it's hard, but give it a shot! Good luck.
