Hey all, I have always loved salt (I grew up using it), but now I'm loving it more than ever..... I've been loving salt on my cravings, lemons, limes, and tomatoes. I've also been addicted to pickles, which I was already before pregnancy, but now it's outta control! Is this really bad?

I had the same thing for a little while at the begining of my 2nd tri (except I could barely even taste the salt until it was loaded on). A lot of people on here, told me how bad it was....I think that your body craves things for a reason sometimes, and as long as its not overboard and your not blood pressure is ok you should be fine...I bet is goes away in a couple of weeks anyways.

Hi, Some salt should be fine but you do need to make sure you don't over due it. While it's true that cravings can mean you're short on something they can also just be cravings...hey some women while pregnant want to eat laundry soap or other messed up things and there is nothing in there that their bodies need. Some salt is fine but you need to be careful as it can cause water retention and an increase in blood pressure -So don't over due it but certianly don't cut it completly out either.

Make it up by drinking lots of water.
