h__lo all. this is our first baby and I'm the father-to-be, lately my wife, who recently found out she is 8 weeks pregnant has been craving more fast food then home cooked meals. is this a phase, because i would like for her to eat more healthier food then fast food. she has lost appet_te for a lot of type of foods, ie seafood, some meats (she will eat meats every now and then, chicken mostly), no cream or cheese, and some other foods. she is craving for more sour foods, ie pickle. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

I have heard that many times when you crave your body is lacking something it needs. Sometimes it is okay to give in. When I first found out I was pregnant all I craved was double cheeseburgers from mcdonalds. I dreamed about them and ate one at least once a day. Then I started making myself eat a balanced diet, when I did this I found my cravings started to go away, but now at 29 weeks they are starting to come back. Guess I better start watching what I eat again!

Fast food isn't "bad" ie, harmful, it's just not beneficial. Most drs are going to say that you're missing out on essential vitamins and are stocking up on fat and empty calories. Like Jenn said, sometimes you have to cater to your craving, but try to alternate with some healthy foods.

Fast food is not the best choice, it does lack nutrients, it also contains high levels of fat, sugar and salt. theses types of food encourage fat storage in mum. Also these foods do not keep 'mum to be' feeling full for long, so she is more likely to snack more that she neads to. I recomend a trip to the book store, there are many great books out there that will help
