Hi everyone! I'm 21 and I weighed 170 at 5'5". (I weighed 10 pounds more than I did before my first pregnancy.) Now I'm 16 weeks and so far I've gained 8 pounds, but I think I'm right on track. My pregnancy magazines say that you should gain anywhere from 2-5 pounds in your first trimester and about a pound a week for the remainder of your pregnancy. I know women gain weight differently and you all sound like you're doing great! I just hope I can stick with that program because I weighed 197 when my first was born and I'm scared to death to gain anymore than 200. My doctor didn't say anything about my weight gain so far so I'm crossing my fingers! Goodluck to you all!

Hi ladies... I am currently 14 wks. pregnant and went to the doc. today for another u/s. According to my last weigh in I have only gained 1 lbs. since I found out i was pregnant. My doc. does not want me to gain for then 15 lbs. during this pregnancy due to diabetes in my whole family and my husbands family. Luckily I do not have it but he wants to be on the safe side.

Hey Annette I am in the same boat - I am 5"9 and weighed 167lbs when I started and am now 187lbs I have totally been freaking out - but I guess as everyone says "everyone is different" I am still doing a lot of excercising and eating healthy - so I gues we are ok :)

I am 30 with my first child. I was a size 10 at 145 pounds five foot four and half. I gained 10 pounds in 2 months. 15 at the third month but I have been holding steady at 20 pounds for through 6 months. I am very worried that I will not loose the weight. I go to the gym everyday but I am unable to do the running that I used to do. The pain commanded me to lightend the workout and I have adjusted accordingly. I have had a huge shift in diet from extremely healthy to less healthy. Meaning, i don't eat vegtables anymore but for some reason I crave tarty fruits and berries night and day. Can anyone over the age of thirty comment on wieght loss and my diet? Thanks,. Emily

I am 16 weeks also. I have only gained about 3 pounds and I started out at 5' 1" and 102 pounds. So I am a little concerned. I have had some bad stomach problems so eating higher calorie stuff and even regular meals are hard. My doctor said I was underweight, but not as bad as she had seen, but I don't want to be that way. We will see when I go to see her this week.

am 30 and this is my second pregnancy. I gained 60 with my daughter and I was already overweight. I lost about 35 pounds within 2 weeks of delivery. The rest was pure fat. I never worked out or walked, and I ate lots of junk. I am now 16 wks and I'm doing so much better this time around. I've "only" gained 10 pounds and by this time last time I had gained at least 20. I'm eating lots more fruit and very little sweets. I'm signing up for water aerobics this summer and I plan to walk. I also have a toddler to chase...can't sleep all day like I did with my first one! Although I know I'll have some fat to lose I think I'm doing way better this time because I'm watching my calories and aware of how difficult it is AFTER the baby comes when you have tons of extra weight to deal with.
