Weight Gain In First Trimester

I am only 8 weeks along and I have already gained 6 pounds. I am quite concerend because I didnt know I was supposed to start gaining this early. And my appitie is so huge that I feel like I am eating all the time! Is this normal? What is the normal weight gain range for a first time mom in her first trimester??? Thanks!
