This question is regarding luncheon meat that may carry listeria. Does the meat in Subway sandwhiches count or is it just pepperoni, salami, bologna? What about thinly sliced deli turkey? I am so confused. Please answer.

hi mandee, i too am unsure. makes you unsure about eating anything at all, everything seems to carry some sort of risk. I avoid the obvious things but trust my instinct when it comes to others. If I trust the source of where the foods bought from then I would probably eat it but thats just me. hope someone can help!!

Every doctor seems to be different on this subject. My doctor said go ahead and eat deli meat. She said stay away from bologna and hotdogs unless they are cooked well enough. But I eat deli meat, like turkey, ham, salami, pepperoni all the time. I am just over 32 weeks pregnant and my little guy is perfectly fine. I would just make sure they are kept refrigerated.

Lunch meat at home is way safer than at subway. You dont know if the meat has been refridgerated correctly. Dont take any chances

Thank you ladies for the input. Maybe I will stick with the Subway roasted chicken instead of the deli meat sandwhiches from now on just to be on the safe side. Happy Pregnancy!
