i am only 6 weeks and have gained about 5 lbs-- but it feels like a lot more. it's my second pregnancy and i'm already showing!

If you started out thin to average size......and are far along in your pregnancy, and are claiming to have only gained a few pounds.......please explain what the hell your doing? I am 24 weeks, and have gained around 16 to 18lbs. I eat healthy......walk regularly, and it does not show (besides my belly and b___bs) that I have gained weight. I just dont believe someone who is 25, 30, 35, etc weeks pregnant and claims to have gained like 5lbs. The only way this makes sense is if you started out overweight, but for all you lightweights who claim to have only gained that much......it DOES NOT make sense!!! You would have to be starving yourself to not gain any weight that late in pregnancy.

to gina.. i don't understand it either. My last pregnancy, I gained 20 lbs by the second trimester, then another 20 in the third! and i started out thin and had a healthy pregnancy.

Every pregnancy is different, ladies. I don't think it's fair to accuse anyone of lying.

I'm 25 wks and I've gained 10-11 lbs so far...Honestly!!! BTW, I'm 5'6" and weighed 112 lbs before getting pregnant..I'm happy with my weight gain, I eat extremely healthily and still exercise at a moderate to high intensity 6 times a week - this is how I keep it in check..

ladies, please don't turn this into something nasty just be cause you don't understand why some people gain more than others. I've gained 26lbs in 35wks, and i started out thin, but i have a friend who only gained 10lbs her entire pregnancy and the baby weighed 6. Everyone is different! Some small people have a hard time putting on weight. I happen to enjoy coming to this thread to see how my gain compares to others , please don't ruin it with mean accusations.

the comment I made was honestly not ment to be mean........I am asking a question, "just want it explained to me". For a woman who started out think pre-pregnancy, and is 25 to 35 weeks and only gained a few pounds. I am asking for those people to explain what they are doing.......b/c I am gaining weight pretty fast, and (no lie) am eating really good! I am just confused if I am doing something wrong. this IS NOT meant to offend anyone.

I am 32 weeks. I have gained 25 pounds I weighed 130 when I got pregnate. I am tall but I really wish I would have been more careful. The only thing that can happen now is more weight gain.

CBC - February 16

I am 15 weeks and 1day and have lost 3 pounds. This is my second pregnancy and I have had no appet_te what so ever. With my first child I had gained 15 lbs by this time.

sherri - February 16

to CBC this is my second pg also. I too have no appet_te, at 19 weeks, I've only gained 2 lbs. With my first at 19 weeks I also gained about 10-15 lbs. What's going on??

CBC - February 16

To Sherri: It is so weird how the two are so different. Did you have a boy or girl the first time. I had a girl. I thought maybe it has something to do with my age. I am 28 and had my first @ 22. Do you know what you are having this time?

Sherri - February 16

To CBC: I had a boy the first time and according to ultrasound, this one is a boy too. There will be three years difference between them. I don't think it's an age thing, I was 27 with my first and now 30 with my second?? Were/are your symptoms the same this time around? Mine pretty much are, except that I am about 10 times more tired. LOL

CBC - February 16

Sherri- I had no symptons with the first child. I never had nausea or fatigue. This pregnancy had done a total 360 turn. I am finally getting out of the nausea and fatigue stage and feel great. I had an ultrasound Monday but they couldn't tell what the gender was yet. The dr said it was to early. What is your due date?

sherri - February 16

To CBC: I am due July 10 2006. When are you due?

Kspa - February 20

I have gained 5lbs and will be 16 weeks this Wed/Feb 22. I swear most of the weight gain is in the b___bs. I actually lost weight in the b___t area. I am hoping for a total weight gain of 25. I really think some women go overboard on eating whatever and do not make good food choices. It is very important for the baby to not over-gain as this can lead to future obesity problems for the child, including diabetes (and for the mother, too). Good luck!
