Night Sweats

I am about 5 wks pg and have woken up the past three nights in a puddle of sweat. It is so uncomfortable...much like the frequent potty breaks in the middle of the night! I thought it was just me, but I am comforted knowing others have experienced this as well.

I am soooo glad to find this sight. This is my 3rd pregnancy and the other two were very similar....NO SWEATS. I woke up the other night looking like I had just went for a swim!!! I am so happy to find this is quite common. It's not so much fun, but at least now, I know everything is ok. Take care, ladies.

i am in my 6th week of pregnancy and experienced night sweats for the first time last night. i called my ob/gyn this morning and she was very rea__suring. she said that it is normal for the body temperature to change (due to hormonal changes) during pregnancy. she said if i am concerned i should take my temperature at night just to make sure it isn't too high. if not, then there's nothing to worry about. phew! i have gotten night sweats before my period for the past 5 years (i'm only 31 now!) but i was not expecting to get them while pregnant, so i was concerned. so glad i was able to get in touch with the dr so easily.

I had my son 31/2 months ago and am having severe night sweats to the point of having to change my clothes 2x's a night. My pillow cases and sheets are soaked.

I have been having night sweats, which seem to have been getting worse since the birth of my daughter 2 months ago. My house is cool at night, and I'm sleeping in very little to help keep the sweating under control. I have lost all my pregnancy weight. So, no extra insulation to blame it on.

I'm wondering if the night sweats have anyting to do with iron levels as I used to have terrible night sweats down the back of my neck and down my chest for the few months before and for a while after my son was born. My iron level was very low at the time so I'm just guessing that there might be a connection. I am now 26 wks and dont seem to have started the night sweats yet and my iron level is ok. I might be wrong but its a thought.

i dont know, but i ,m having pms so i sometimes having nightsweat ...maybe it's because you are drinking too much coffee since it troubles me very much, so i go to see chinese dr. he explained to me, since coffee means fire to body...you may carry too much fire on your body, when lack of water, your body will burn during nights (it's a chinese point of view) so i did some research for myself, i eat black bean to balance my body, it works when the day i ate some boiled black beans...now if i 'm having pms(my only symdrome of pms is nightsweating) i'll just drink or eat black bean water. oh, i guess americans are eating too many food contains "fire"...eg. grilled food i just got back from us, i found out i had it again when i was in cali. you can give it a try. no harm!

I am in my 27th week of pregnancy and have been having night sweats for the past 2 months now. I wake up absolutely soaking but my body is cool to the touch. I put it down to being hormone linked. I am overweight but have spoken to several ladies who have been pregnant and most say the same thing, so I don't think it is anything to worry about, it does seem quite common.

I spoke to my OBGYN who said that it is very normal to have night sweats after you give birth because of the raised estrogen levels and that it is sort of menopause like nightsweats with your body readjusting back. I had a baby 4 months ago. I did not ask about night sweats during pregnancy, but from what she said. it seems to me like it is the same issue during pregnancy, right? Everyone should stop freaking out and go buy some baby clothes and be happy. Better yet, go to a movie. That would be a dream come true for me with a new born.

just over 12wks and woke up a few times lat night sweating like a pig but i was freezing cold??. is it normal and does anyone klnow how long it lasts??

Mel - November 2

You know what ladies? I am 9 wks pregnant, and have been also experiencing the night sweats for the past several nights. My sister also experienced them. They're obviously normal and wont harm the baby since all of these women on here have had them and haven't posted anything bad after delivery.

its the hormones.

Gosh, for the last couple of days I have been waking up drenched. My AF was due on Sat 19th...and still nothing. I have had cramping today, but that has stopped. I took a test two days before AF was due and it was BFN...I am going to try either tomorrow or day after.

tish - November 22

this is my first month of trying to get pregnant. i had night sweats after the birth of my first child but never during the pregnancy but for the past 3 nights I have had bad night sweats and I am hoping that this may be a sign that i am pregnant since everybody on here seems to be having this problem.i am not sick so there is no real explanation for it. well heres to hoping and i'll find out in a week.

Funmi - November 29

I also am in my 25th week and also having night sweats. I wake up with my clothes soaking wet like I had been exercising or something. I also am trying to find out why.

Lori - December 4

I don't know if I'm pregnant yet-but I've never had night sweats before AF-and I had night sweats last night. Big fat BUT, I also have cramping and slight spotting.
