I've heard that eating peanut products can increase the liklihood that a baby has a peanut allergy. Has anyone asked their doctor about this?

HI....if you dont have any allergies in family, including yourself..you dont have to worry, and can enjoy that healthy treat. Nothing to worry about.

I asked my doctor and he said it is fine, however, I am a teacher and see a lot of children with peanut allergies. I am staying on the safe side.

Uh, I have a crunchy peanut b___ter sandwich almost EVERY DAY. My doctor said that's fine, I most likely need the protein which is why I gravitate toward it everyday.

surely exposure to peanuts would harden the baby to it...not cause an allergy?

My dr said said it is fine. She said she actually ate peanut b___ter with all of her pregnancies as well!

If there is a family history of peanut allergies, athsma, etc... You may want to avoid peanuts during pregnancy - this website explains it very well http://www.junkscience.com/news2/peanuts.htm
