Hi there the reason why overweight women have trouble falling pregnant is because the excess fat produces large enough amounts of the hormone estrogen, which in turns acts like the pill & can stop ovulation. The more excess fat you have the more estrogen you produce & the less likely you are to become pregnant. (Same happens when you are underweight except that you don't produce enough estrogen to ovulate). I would suggest a life style change. Diets may work in the short term but if your serious about loosing weight not just to get preg but to be around for your kids, you need to learn how to eat healthy. Silly diets or fads which starve your body won't work either as the body goes into survival mode & will store as much fat as possible. Talk to your doctor or a licensed diet_tian about starting a healthy eating & exercise program. To make it easier on you, your husband should take part in the lifestyle change as well (whether or not he's overweight). Goodluck & I hope you have success at loosing weight & falling pregnant & to starting a healthy lifestyle not just for you but for your future kids.
