WHat can happen if you took Phentermine in the very first 2 weeks you got pregnant. It was only 2 pills on 2 different days?

There is a guide booklet inside my box of prenatal vitamins and it talks about diet and exercise. It says DO NOT take any kind of diet pill/supplement while pregnant nor follow a diet meal plan. It had the DO NOT in caps in the book.

DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE PG.I think of it this way would you feed your baby diet pills?????

KT - July 15

Im sorry, but that is such an ignorant question. Why would you try to loose weight while pregnant

I don't think that taking diet pills or dieting while pregnant would be the best choice, but I have talked to my doctor about this because I have been trying to get in good shape before I become pregnant. The fetus is so small in the first few weeks that it will not hurt the baby, but once you find out for sure that you are pregnant you should stop using diet pills and replace them exercise and healthy eating habits- which will take away your worries and make you feel better anyway.

wow! I am new to this site and after reading some of these responses pretty scared to ask any question now. You should all be ashamed at your harsh responses! ITS A QUESTION... we are not all perfect like you. I took diet pills for the 1st 8 weeks before I knew I was pregnant, and that was the 1st question I asked because I was scared (just like Debra Im sure) Once you know your pregnant than STOP but if an newly expectant mother HAD taken them and IS concerned so simply ASKS a question.... get off your moral high horse and give the poor, worried girl an answer. Geez

I think Lisa's self-righteous "advice" is nothing but damaging. Many people who take diet pills already have low self-esteem/self-image. Telling them that they're stupid isn't exactly the kind of answer ANYONE was looking for--that isn't what this forum is about. In addition, Lisa keeps telling us the things we "should have thought about before getting pregnant"--with aprox. 50% of all pregnancies being unplanned, don't you think it's pretty irrelevent telling someone they "should have" thought about the fact they were "FAT" before they got pregnant. Just shut off your computer (and hopefully your mouth) if you can't make a humane contribution to a young women's very important question--a question that MANY women have, but are often too scared to ask because of people like you. Yeah, it's sad we even have to talk about taking diet pill while pregnant, but the fact remains--most women are extremely concerned about their body image (with good reason--just look at any T.V. commercial). How easily do we just snap out of the superficial frame of mind we ALL are conditioned to believe? Suddenly--the minute I'm pregnant--I'm not supposed to worry anymore about getting fat? Trying to bully/guilt women into thinking they are awful for even thinking about dieting or being afraid of gaining weight, is "stupid". These thoughts exist in many womens' minds--right or wrong. Beating a person down for expressing their genuine concerns is unacceptable.

Some of these woman should be ashamed! This site is to ask questions and give feedback in a positive way. Maybe some of these girls don't have health insurance to ask a doctor these questions. A preagnant body is a beutiful thing, and someone who had an eating disorder before it was hard for me. I ate enough but i didn't take advantage of being pregnant. No Diet Pills! Just have some will power and lots of walking. It can be healthy and fun.

does taking diet pills affect getting pregnant? and do you think that it would affect the results on the pregnancy test if you were late? just a question thanks

What do you mean you can't eat breads or pastas? Of course you can! Where ever did you get that from? There is nothing wrong with eating breads or pastas? You're body needs complex carbohydrates...you can't cut out a whole food group! Get your facts straight before you start giving incorrect advice, you're not a nutritionist!

I don't think it is safe to take diet pills while you are pregnant. I was taking Hydroxycut for a while when I was really into working out and Taekwondo and when I found out I was pregnant I had to stop them. Th diet pills prohibit certain things from absorbing into your system, and even some vitamins and minerals as well get flushed out with the fat the diet pills burn. You need all this for a growing baby. The baby will make you're heart pump 20% harder and will consume a lot from your body. You will need all the energy you can get and diet pills will not help. If I were you I would not worry about it right now, perhaps talk to your doctor about meal plans and look on the interent for the food guides. They will tell you how many servings of things to have and from all the different food groups. This will help keep your body healthy, and will help the baby grow. Don't listen to the really rude people, people here (some of them) can be very harsh and cruel. They don't understand yet that you can tell the truth without being cruel about it...

for me no! why? because it can affect the pregnancy of the baby.
