I have read that it is not advisable to try and lose weight while pregnant. I don't know if slim fast will provide you with the nutrition you need to support a pregnancy and would be concerned about doing it while you're expecting. I guess the best thing is to talk to your doctor/midwife and they will ba able to advise you. Take care xxx

You're welcome - I'm just going on what I have read and on my first instinct. I have had 2 miscarriages so can relate to how you feel. I am 9 weeks today and counting the days till my first scan next Friday! Can't wait to see that heartbeat! I'm sure your doc will help you with your concerns about your weight and I wish you a healthy happy pregnancy! Take care xxx

I'm overweight and 13 weeks with our first. You still need to gain weight. Talk to your doctor. I asked about Slim Fast, just because I don't like plain milk. You can use it, but NOT as a meal replacement. Be sure to eat as well. So far I haven't gained any weight, but it's okay. My dr. said maybe I will only have a 20-lb. total weight gain for the pregnancy. But you need to realize that all the things happening to your body literally add up. You create extra blood, the baby, the placenta, etc. - all these things mean you will gain weight! Seriously, see your doctor and talk about these things. Good luck.
