the second I found out I was preg I started drinking a lot more water. And that is all the I would drink. I think that it's fine, so far it hasn't affected my baby

I drink loads of tap water, I am sure it would be beter than most other drinks.
I have read that it is a good idea to have you water checked if you house has old lead pipes.

Any water is good. I have actually craved different types of water during this pregnancy. First, room temp bottled water when I had morning sicknes. Then, cool tap water (only from MY kitchen) during 2nd trimester. Only in my third trimester have I been able to drink cold water and want only COLD water.

It depends on how healthy your tap is. If your water has lead in it, it is not safe. You can call your local health dept for a water test kit. I think you take a sample and send it to a lab, for a fee. It may be worth it to find out if your water is safe. Our tap water left a residue on the bathtub, so of course we would not drink it. I have always used a Brita Water Pitcher, and our water tastes much better having been through a filter.
