I started this thread originally...just wanted to let anyone with the same problem know...I had my baby three weeks ago and all my hand/wrist problems are completely gone already. The same thing happened to me during my first pregnancy, and went away right after delivery.

I know I have already said this, but it was a while ago!!!! The splints really work. I had instant relief from this horrible condition and at 31 weeks I still wear them to bed. A physio can help you out and for those of you in Australia, if you go into hospital as an inpatient, they won't cost you a thing. If not, they cost about $60 (AU) from a chemist. No need for personally made ones, the 'one size fits all' are fine. Good luck.

Congratulations Jbear on having your baby. Thank you for letting us know that after giving birth we can expect that things will go back to normal. I am on week 26 and it's been tough but there is hope, thank goodness.

I'm 15 weeks and I have had tingling in my right hand. I type all day at work to make matters worse. I've had the tingling even before I was prego but now it's worse.

I've been having the pain shooting down to my elbow... it starts as numbness then just pain. This is my second pregnancy (had twins the first time) and I didn't experience anything like this. It's been horrible and I can't sleep. Thankfully, I'm 35 weeks along now and hopefully this will go away soon after the baby comes. Thanks for easing my mind and for some advice reg'd ice and splints. I'll look into it for sure.
