I'm only 21 wks and I'm having a lot of symptoms that people say to check out, but my doctor never seems to think anything is actually wrong. I have the feeling that the baby is going to fall out(all the time)--it's kinda like my interior walls are simply going to turn inside out, slight bleeding(somtimes it'll be heavy and shoot out like a dang rocket), discharge(the bad kind and a lot of it), trouble holding my water, and the *private area components* are swollen so bad that it hurts to be in any other position than spread eagle (although s_x can be excrutiating at times). Can anyone tell me of anything to releave the painful swelling *down there*? I also work at a job where I'm on my feet for 8-12 hours straight 5-6 days a week. Is there anything I can do for the swelling in my feet? Thanks so much. It's my first pregnancy and I can't find anyone else who had the same kind of swelling.

Teige, those symptoms are NOT normal. Sounds like maybe an infection? I would demand to be seen by your Dr. right away. Good Luck.

get yourself to another doc. bleeding in the second trimmester isn't good and neither is funny discharge. in fact if it gets worse before you can see a doc then get yourself to the accident and emergency department. trust your own body if things just dont feel right then they prob aren't

Went and saw the doctor. Again, he said nothing is wrong. All he did was repeat the things I told him back to me. That's the way most foreign doctors are around here, I don't know about anywhere else. I can't understand a word of what he says anyway. Anytime I say anything about switching doctors, they say that I'll have to see all of them in the office at some time or another anyway and that I should just stay with him. The advice he's giving me would have me taking asprin on a regular basis for headaches. If it wasn't for the guidence of others I would have taken down a bottle of excedrin by now. Anybody got any home remedies for the above problems? Obviously my doctor isn't worth a darn. Thanks

My sister in law had beeding in the second trimester....her doc said it was causes by her perclampisa. It's were you have high blood pressure caused by your pregnance. I don;t think that it should be shooting out thou. I know that it sounds gross but next time it happens take a sample of it and take it with you to the ER. Let them know what is happening. They can do labs on it to see if there is an infection or something. Your doctor gets paid by your insurance company.....If you want to change doctors I suggest you do it now. Of course he is going to try to disencourge you from witching doc. But then again ......... anyhow..Something is not right. Maybe certain soaps or creams that you are using is reacting to new fluids*down there*, I suggest you take it easy for a while. Go to walmart and use that free heart rate machine to check your blood pressure. Also no asprin only tylenol.

Did your doc do a pap smear? Test for anything? It sounds like an infection definitely and if your doctor did not test anything- DO NOT GO BACK TO HIM!!! Your bleeding could be nothing or could be VERY important. It sounds like you were thinking of switching doctors inside the same practice. I would look for someone outside of that practice. Again, if nothing was tested- don't go back please. I am not trying to scare you, but I just want you to get yourself taken good care of.

I switched doctors, finally. He is in the same practice as the other, but that is the only practice I can resonably get myself to(and that's still 45 minutes away). Was tested for infection, small one found, everything should be ok now. He did say, however, that the bleeding only becomes a concern when it's more like a period. My new doctor is leaning more toward me getting out of work for the rest of my pregnancy though. He's been in the area for a long time and knows what other pregnant women have complained about in the factories around here. I just have to find out if I can go on disability this early or not. Hopefully I can, because being a single mom means I can't lean back on my husband for support and bills don't care how you feel and come anyway. Thanks for your replies.

You know dear....I can totally relate to you and how your Dr isnt being very concerned. Now that you are this far along. YOu have a motherly instinct. wich by the way is going off like crazy right now. or you wouldnt even be on here asking in the first place. WHO IS GOING TO HURT IF YOU GO SEE ANOTHER DR IN A DIFFERENT CLINIC?????? YOU OR THE DR? who is more important right now YOU OR THE DR? it is you my friend and that baby. And if something is wrong, and you dont go and at least make SURE OF IT.....you will beat yourself up from now until dooms day. Your baby was given to you as a gift from God, a very special gift. Tons of women are having miscarriages and or cant get pregnant. It's up to you now to take care of you ....and your baby. So I wouldnt worry about what everyone else says. I would go right back to your gut instinct........and get yourself reasured that YOU ARE OK. Dr's come and go, Babies dont. They are each so unique and wonerful in their own ways. Take care of yourself. Trust in your self, and listen to your new mother instincts.
hope this in encouraging. Keep me posted. Im praying for you, Teige

It is good that you switched dr's. Also I would work on getting out of work ASAP!! I felt like you. I thought my baby was going to fall out!It was really scary at times and I was also getting terrible headaches with vision problems. My dr put me out at 30 weeks. Good luck to you!

I'm thinking SECOND OPINION! You can't be tooo safe when dealing with a pregnancy. Seek another doctor.

If you havn't done so yet check into short term disability from your state. You may qualify for it since you are pregnant and may be taken off work for the duration. I hope everything has been resolved. I definately would NOT take aspirin during pregnancy as there are multiple side effects, none of them good for baby. To relieve swelling, you should put your feet up and relax, and unfortuantely I had the same problem with swelling in that area too and my doc said it was normal, checked for infection just in case but that it would be something I'd have to live with for a while. You could try ice packs, for about 20 min. Don't think I'd go any longr than that at a time. I hope this helps

Thank you everyone for your advice. I've switched doctors(in the same practice) and have left work for the duration of my pregnancy. I left work at 30 weeks and I have to say that things are going a lot better since I left. I have the normal, expected symptoms of pregnancy now, but there is nothing I can do about that. Most of the complaints I mentioned above have gone away. There are two things I believe had a big affect on the symptoms. I no longer stand for 12 hours a day and I have finally learned the meaning of the word "abstinence"(he he). Again, thank you all for your advice.
