Fatigue Fatigue Fatigue

Hi everyone, this is my third pregnancy and totally unlike my other two. I am 11 weeks now and look like I am five months along. My last pregnancy was 14 years ago but I remember how I felt both times and it was nothing like this at all. I am exhausted beyond belief. I get weak, very sick, feel like passing out. I have never in my life experienced fatigue though not sleepiness like this. Does anyone else have this?? I would say this is my primary symptom. I felt so terrible today I nearly called the doctor until I was reminded by a friend, that I am 37, in other words not as young as I used to be ;) With fatigue this extreme could it be a sign of twins? or is it my age?

I think you should call your doctor. I wouldn't a__sume it had to do with age (I'm 26 and I've been pretty darn tired throughout my pregnancy). Maybe you need different vitamins, or to be tested for anemia. I just thought of something neat for you...if your youngest child is 14, that means you'll have at least one built-in babysitter :-)

I was EXTREMELY tired in my first trimester. It was awful. I was in bed by 6:30 every nite!! My doc said that it was normal!! I am 14 weeks now and have much more energy!!

I've felt very tired in the first and third trimesters with this one, and I didn't with my first pregnancy 2 years ago. I'm 28.

Try carrying twins. All I want to do is sleep. But you have to remember.... you're body is creating an entire little person. It's ok to be tired!

I'm 38 and have a 15 year old (my first child). Am presently pregnant at 32 weeks. I was ridiculously tired my first trimester and again now in my third trimester. Frankly it sucks to be so exhausted and uncomfortable but I know that I and the baby are healthy. my body is just doing what it has to to grow a baby.

I'm 37 and 27 weeks pregnant with my first. I was very tired during my third to fourth month, but my energy has returned since then. Personally, I believe people who are 35 and older and are pregnant are more suspectible to fatigue than women under 35. I consider it a drawback for the older 35 crowd while I consider other aspects like more life experiences to be an advantage. There are a couple of ways to beat the fatigue. First, drink plenty of water - 64 ounces or more a day - in addition to other beverages. Second, eat mini-snacks - one piece of fruit or some crackers - in between meals. Eat a good diet daily, which includes protein, carbs, calcium fruit, veg. Take a nap if needed. Don't get too discouraged about tiring, which I know can be frustrating and annoying. Remember your energy will ebb and flow throughout your pregnancy. Ok, by now I'm starting to sound like a mother. But seriously, ask your doctor if you're concerned. Good luck!

I am 30 and in my mid 11th weeks. I've been tired and fatigue since the 5th week. I didn't want to do much and have been staying in the house most of the time. I've been taking the prenatal vitamins everyday and it doesn't really help with this. My doctor said I wasn't anemic but told me to get over the counter Ferrous Sulfate 325mg as supplement. I've just started taking it today. Will update to see how i feel along the way.
