Hi Patty. I am 29 and was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 months ago. I did have two m/c before I found out about the PCOS but I don't think that they were related. I believe with PCOS the problem is ovulating regularly. After the last m/c my doctor put me on metformin to make me ovulate every month. Well after only 6 weeks on metformin (6 weeks after my miscarraige) I am pregnant. I didn't even realize that I wasn't ovulating. I found it really handy to chart my bbt. That way you know when/if you actually ovulate. Has your doctor suggested any medications for you? I wish you so much luck. Let me know if you find a solution for yourself as I know everyone is different.

Hi, I just find it very strange that they would put you on birth control knowing that you are trying to get pregnant. My doctor knew that wasn't an option for me and decided on Metformin and if that didn't work in 6 months then add clomid. Thankfully we didn't have to go that route. Wishing you the best of luck.

hi roxanne---well yesterday at my appt i didnt really get the answers i hoped for--they need to do further testing before they prescribe something---so i have to go on day 3 of my nex cycle for a series of exams then an hsg test, then who knews what else----is this the normal procedure or what ? it is so mind consuming-now i am really depressed. i try to make myself feel better by saying---ok maybe before they give me something they want a clear picture so i dont waste time with meds that cant help me---i dont knew---is all this testing and further blood work normal...i do knew i have pcos who knews what else....what tests did they do for you when you were diagnosed with pcos ?

Hi patty, i just wanted to let you know that there is hope! I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago and have been trying to concieve for 3.5 years. My doctor wanted to start me on hormone replacement tablets to help me ovulate more regularly but being stubborn and a little nervous about it all i waited. I fell pregnant all on my own (oh no - with my husbands help, ha) one week before i was due to start the medication!!!! Good luck with it all and dont get too stressed out.

i got diagnosed with pcos 5 years ago. I got pregnant my first month of clomid with my daughter and lost her. I tried 6 more rounds of clomid and had no luck. Then I went to a fertility specialist who got me pregnant with three rounds of artificial insemination and clomid. The stuff makes you feel horrible but its well worth it. My son will be born in april exactly 3 years from when we started ttc. Looking back I wish I hadn't wasted the time letting my ob drug me. I should have moved on to the specialist quicker.

Hello, I also discovered that I have PCOS. I had a baby that was still born June 2004 @ 20 weeks, I am not sure of the cause never really got a definitive answer all test on the baby came back normal. I also had a m/c Sept 2005. It was after that I found out that I had PCOS. I am pregnant now approx 4 weeks. I am working very hard to keep my insulin levels down soI don't m/c again. The medication I was taking glucophage 500mg three x's day, avandia 4mg twice/ day. baby asa 81mg, omega 3 1000mg daily, calcium 500mg, vitamin e 400IU, DHEA 25mg every other day you have to purchase that from the healthfood store. it helps balance out your insulin levels. Monitor your blood sugar levels even though they are probably normal. octobertan@comcast.net
