Let's put it this way...I'm 34 weeks, first pregnancy too...I have been experiencing both back and rib pain sine my 10th. week of pregnancy and it's lasted until now! It's horrible and I hate it! I was doing the same thing like you staying up all night with the pain. The things I found relieving were sleeping with a pillow under my back, you can sleep on your back I have no idea who told you not too. If you sleep on your side, try placing a pillow underneath your abdomen and behind you. Also sleeping with a pillow under your knees can help the straining on your back and also can stop leg cramps! Take Tylenol at night, take the smallest dose. When your sitting anywhere carry a small rolled up towel and place it behind you. A support belt can also help, if your showing...or really big. Taking a warm bath or shower just before going to bed. Getting a ma__sage by my BF before bed. Stretching, doing some yoga. Also keep in mind your in your 1st. trimester so your body is adjusting for the baby. So your baby might be in those ribs of yours. Trust me when you get bigger it's no fun your baby will be pressing on your back, spine, ribs, whatever is in the way! Good Luck! If you can't bare with the pain you should go to the doctors or leave a message for the doc!
