Cramping And Some Spotting

I am 5.5 wks pg. Have had uncomfortable cramping for more than 2 wks. Ultrasound showed an empty sac (at 4 wks) within the uterus. HCG levels are increasing at a rapid rate. Starting to "stain"/discoloration:pink, past three days after I urinate. Is cramping normal with some staining. I am very nervous. Will be second child.

Hey, I'm 17 weeks now, but when I found out I was pregnant I was 5.6 wks. pregnant. I started to cramp very litely though. Then the pink spotting started. I phoned the Dr. because you can never be too careful. They told me to come in and gave me an ultra-sound. All was well. We learned that implantation bleeding occurs in at least 50% of pregnant women. It later became a brownish color and soon ended. When you become pregnant, your body retains alot of blood. Just take it easy and don't worry, you'll be fine. This our first child and we were nervous too. It stopped though. Also, you may see some blood after s_x too so don't be alarmed, just give yourself some time to get settled into your pregnancy. Your Dr. will tell you if the spotting becomes very red, dark red, with severe cramps, call the Dr. ASAP or go to the ER. Hope this helps! I've been there.

Thank you Vanessa for responding to my question and a big congratulations to you. I went back to the Dr and they found what is called a subchorionic bleed. She stated that it should go away and to come back in two weeks for my 3rd ultrasound. She also stated that I should feel some discomfort from the bleed...I wish they understood that it's not just a "little" discomfort...I have bad cramps all day long..but when I rest for a good while the cramping goes away. Well thank you again..it's just being a nervous mom...i never experienced any of these things with my first child and that was a very long time ago...good luck to you!!!

Hi i had the same symptoms light cramping first pinkish dishcharge ,then red but only when i wiped from peeing the today brownish liek the end of period.I went to dr's yesterday and had ultrasound heard babys heart beat she said it was implantation bleeding but im still scared

I'm sure everything will be just fine. My Dr. stated that if I pa__s the bleed, I should see blood then brown..I haven't seen brown yet, and still have a lot of cramping with spotting. I'm sure w/you, first blood and now brown is a good thing..and you heard the baby's heartbeat, so that's great too. All the best to you..I'm still waiting to see what is happening with me.
