h__lo my fellow pregos,
just looking for some support here. I am 26 weeks pregnant with my third baby. I am starting to get really scared about the labor. Sometimes I get palpatations and they scare the h__l out of me even though I read that it is normal during pregnancy. I also have suffered from anxiety for the past year before I was pregnant. I get panic attacks which I am getting better at controlling and am seeking professional health for this. I guess I am just afraid to die at birth or that my heart will give out on me. sometimes I do get chest pains but I believe it is from indegestion because I'll blow gas and the pain goes away. does anyone else get that and is anyone else like me here? alittle afraid to give birth? Another thing is that I work in the medical feild. I am a secretary to a hematologist and I know way to much.

lisa, I wish that I could say something to make you feel better but I am also in your shoes. I am 30 weeks pregnant with baby number two and a lot more scared and nervous about labor then I was with my first who is two. I don't understand why I am so scared. I also get palpatations. I have been having a lot of headaches with this pregnancy which scares me even more. Have you seen the movie Jersey Girl w/ Jay Lo and Ben Aflec? I love that movie, but it scares me to death seeing aneurisms are common in my family. My first labor was very quick, five hours total, but I had a short cervix at the time and was told that every one of my pregnancies would be that way, but so far it's thick and normal. Maybe that is what scares me, b/c it might not be as easy this time around. I wish you luck and keep me posted.

Dont worry Nicole,
I spoke to my Dr. who is a high risk specialist and she said that palpatations are normal during pregnancy due to the increased blood flow. As fpr the headaches that is due to raging hormones. I used to get them almost everyday and I was getting scared too. If the pain gets too bad definilty call your DR. I am so afraid of anuerisms. but guess what, that is beyond our control. Do you have high blood pressure. What kind of aneurisms run in your family? I didnt know that they were genetic. Your second pregnancy labor should be faster this time around. It was with mine. but it hurrrt like hell. I think we all go throught this but there no going back now. Just pray to god, he' ll help us.

Thanks lisa. I found out what my headaches were from; I have a pinched nerve in my neck that is causing a lot of pain. My grandfather on my father's side had a brain aneurism back in 99 and died and then my father's brother had a heart aneurism in 02. It was horrible. There is my dad and two brothers left and they have to go once a year to have their cholesterol checked, I guess that has something to do with it. I am very nervous about labor b/c like I said I had a short cervix with my first baby and I seem to be fine with this one so far, which I'm sure that labor will be longer and more painful, but thanks for the encouragment. Good luck to you and keep me posted.
