Help I Have A BV Or Yeast Infection

h__lo, i am 5 weeks pregnant and i am developing a yeast or BV infection... i've had this before but now that i'm pregnant i'm not sure what to do. I asked the nurse and she said i could use monistat 7 externally but not to insert it into the va___a... i did this just now and its causing some burning. also i went to webmd and they said to never treat it va___ally when you're pregnant but to use oral medication instead, now i'm worried. what do you think?

I am not sure what site you were on but I have had 3 yeast infections this pregnancy and each time I have used monistat and have put the applicator half way in. So, it is okay. But, b/c BV can cause preterm labor make sure you ask your doc. to make sure it is really a yeast infection. I am sure mine is,. and I have had burning once I started using Monistat 7. If you read the label it actually says this could happen.

i had a few BV/yeast infections during my 2nd trimester and always used Monistat. I used the appilcator too - and the external cream did really burn, come to think of it, but i just pretended that was what was killing the infection off :) - Monistat isn't too strong and is safe during pregnancy (www.safefetus.com) - oral meds are stronger and I wouldn't take those for yeast now!
