Long story, started in the neck for 2 nights, then the arms and wrists. Pain is so severe my wife is in tears at night and is almost immobilized. I had to take her to the hospital 2 nights back and the doctor said it was severe spasms that could last up to a week. Now my wife is doing well during the day but at night she is absolutely in tears from the pain. Can't hold her own juice glass, or take off her top, she can't clenh her hand on anything. Doctor prescribed her Tylenol 2. She says on a scale of 1-10 that at the worst times (NIGHT) it tops 10. I am concerned and worried. We have a doctors appointment Thursday but I can't wait. My wife is 10 weeks pregnant and we had our ultrasound the day this pain started and everything was great. Any thoughts??

I know one of the symptoms of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy is shoulder and neck pain, but if her u/s showed everything was ok, then I don't know what the problem could be. Is she having pain anywhere else?

If you can see a chiropractor that does NOT believe in cracking methods- that would be great. I've experienced similiar things that she's feeling. I had carpal tunnel/tendonitis (sp?) that started from my shoulders down through my arms and into my hands. I couldn't pick anything up, couldn't put a bra on- horrible pain throughout the night and now all the pain I have is my thumbs. It works, just takes time. Fish oil helps promote healing as well. Seeing a chiro may help because he/she wont try to fix it with medications only relieving the stress of the muscle spasms. My pain began around the 3rd month and now I am 7 months. Has to do with hormones and some swelling. Hang in there. Good luck
