BOYFRIENDS NON INTEREST IN THE PREGNANCY

I'm 7 weeks preg. and I don't know how to get my boyfriend into more of the reading and research about having the baby.He doesn't seem interested or is always working and nothing has changed for him.But,my life has to all of a sudden come to a halt.Why can't they understand something as important as this?I just want him to show me that he's happy instead of just saying it.

First of all, Sad, your life doesn't have to come to a halt. Your life is just beginning. A huge part of a healthy baby is a healthy, happy mom. You need to focus on the positives, your baby is counting on you! My aunt got pregnant with her third (and unexpected) child and for the first 4 or 5 months her husband did not but talk negative about "Her" baby. Even to their family and friends. I guess these men forget it took two to make this baby. However, he is the most loving father now that is all over. He just need a little more time than she did to come to grips with the who thing. Remember, it is a big change for them too. Give it some time and keep communicating!!! Don't nag, just give him plenty of opportunity to be involved. Keep asking him to come to appointments or shop for clothes etc. Hell come around! Good luck!
