I'm sorry, I don't have an answer. But just wanted to share that I have the same worry. I used to drink when I'd go out-- I didn't know I was pregnant at the time either. I'm very paranoid because according to my research, it is said that the first weeks of pregnancy (not sure, but I think first 5-8 weeks) are the most critical for fetal development. And it is unknown what the safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy is and to just avoid it. Unfortunately, I didn't know I was pregnant at the time (otherwise I would have obviously avoided it). After I found out I was pregnant, I've been very careful about what I put into my body. I'm scared something will be wrong with my baby. I guess all we can do is take care of ourselves once we think we're pregnant & pray everything will be okay.

I am in the very same boat as both of you. My husband and I weren't trying and my cycle has been all over the place so I didn't think twice about drinking at a couple functions I went to lately. I'm 6 weeks pregnant, I think and my doctor's appt. is tomorrow. I'm going to ask her her thoughts and I'll pa__s the info. along. Isn't it terrible that we're stressing like this at such a happy time. I keep telling myself that there are poeple out there who do a lot worse then I did when they know they're pregnant and their babies are healthy. I'm eating lots of fruits and veggies trying to make up for it.

Fortunately,There is no evidence that a few drinks on a couple of occations early in pregnancy will prove harmful to a developing embryo.in fact, one recent study showed that women that had two or three such drinking episodes early in pregnancy weren't any more likely to have babies with structural defects or growth retardation.
however continuing to drink throughout pregnancy is a__sociated with a wide variety of problems.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. I drank for the first 2 months not knowing that I was pregnant. The only reason I found out I was pregnant was because I tried to take a shot of Absolute Vodka and it wouldn't go down. I think I took the test a couple of days later and found out I was pregnant. From then on I didn't drink and my child is healthy. Good Luck :)

April I had the same type of experience. I didn't know at first, as with most women, but when ever I tried to drink it just wasn't appealing. As much as I'd love a gla__s of wine, I just can't seem to get a whole one down.
