I AM AT THE END OF 9WEEKS AND MY MIDWIFE SCHEDULED ME AN ULTRASOUND... HAD SOME LIGHT BLEEDING AND HORMONE TEST CAME BACK HIGH BUT NOT OFF CHARTS... WHY AM I GETTING AN ULTRASOUND SO EARLY?

Since your hormone test came back higher than normal, the doctor is probuly having you get an ultra sound to check for twins. When your levels are hiher, it tend to mean you may be carrying twins, the only way the doctor can be sure is to have the ultra sound. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions about your results and appointments, you have a right to know. Good Luck.

I am 11 weeks now, my doc did one at 9weeks also to make sure baby was in the right spot and had a heartbeat. I also was worried when he told me he wanted to do an ultasound that early, it must be normal for them to check that early. When I asked my doc when we would be able to hear the heartbeat at a visit he told me after 12 weeks. Because the baby is so small still.
