I also saw your little angel's pic, her face show so clear, cho cute!! It is like HI World! Although, you take no salt at all, but taking none is hard, but I must say you are the one who has great will power, since the beginning of your pregnancy. So b/c of all this are you able to attend your lamaze cla__ses? Helene, how is little Teddy? How much did he weigh during u/s? now that your tummy is growing big....heartburn is one thing. Did you try Tums? Mine wears off with Tums, but at night ....cold mild soothes me. also, try to pile up couple pillows and Kim is right about the preg pillow. for constipation I am thinking of taking Colace over the counter told by my doc, but I am still scared. Some days in pregnancy are great, but some are so lousy, especially if the night sleep is disturbed. Helene, your night cycle is like mine. Finally, when I am having good sleep, it is time to go to the bathroom. From about three days I try to take a nap for atleast one hour or so. I get leg cramps also, but warm bath gives some relief. For numbness wear wristgard/splint on your wrists. It restricts the blood flow and reduces the amount of pain and numbness. During day time take it easy for repit_tive work. knpandrews i guess you are kim. This is easier to write :-). I am so sorry about the pre-eclamsia. Today is monday, I hope you will be ok. I had a Csection before. I come from a country where babies are delivered by Csection. My uncle who is OB doctor told me that last year the statistics said that only 1 baby born for natural delivery and only because the baby didn't wait to the scheduled csection. It may sound weird for you guys. Overthere you choose how you want to delivere your baby if everithing is ok. My first baby was trough Csection, she was breech, on tuesday, I broke water on thursday and when i get to the hospital they didn't do a sonogram agian and the little one was in position. Guess what?? the doctor was very upset, because for them it was an error. I was really happy with my csection , i didn't feel any pain after the cirgury and my girl was 23in long 9lbs 7oz. It was a huge baby. Imagine having her v____ally?? no way!! I left the hospital on monday and tuesday nite i went to cla__s. I was taking a master cla__s at that time. Kim i am telling you this so you don't fell scare about having a csection. I hope you will be as lucky as i was and when you leave the hospital you feel Good to enjoy your litlle one. I pray for you. Please let us know whatdoctor told you today.

I have two more weeks on prometrium. Looking forward to stop that thing. I am just getting tired to wake -up at 4:00 am to insert that pill down there. Terrible!! I have morning sickness all day long. DOctor game a prescription for that. I don't remeber the name of themedicne, but it is the one that cancer people take after chemotherapy, I think it is a strong medicine, I don't feel confortable taking it. I decided to go ahead with my m/s and tolerate them. sanjavi77 what is your name? I play with my imagination a lot and i think about you as sandy. Sorry if that is not your name but is easier for me to keep track who is who. :-). Helene it is nice to feel baby teddy moving a lot. My first baby used to move a lot. One day i didn't feel her anymore and i got scare and I called my doctor. He make go to the office and attache em to a mchine and that was supposed to record her movements. Nothing happened. Drink juice and she didn't move. He send me to the hospital for a sonogram and it was when they saw her being breach and i was in my 38 weeks. They measure her. She was breech and they said that she was to big to turn around and they schedule a csection. After i left the hospital and went home she start moving again a lot. non stop. I could eve see her little feet shape in my tummy kicking. So is teddy kicking a lot?? sanjavi77 i went back to the begining of the posting and i found you are AVI from california, Kim move to VA. WHat part of VA? I live in MD. We may be close if you live in Northen VA. I am a mechanical engineer and I work for SAIC in frederick MD. Sorry i am lazy to read all the posting :-) But little by little i will be on track. :-) I had a two hours spare time today. Hi Ladies...Well i just got back from the doctor and wow what a visit. Doc. says that I will not be hospitalized as of yet. However, he does want to see me back 2 X per week for the remainder of my pregnancy. Nice right!!! So now, I had a growth scan scheduled for the 29th but he moved it up until the 24th. They are preparing for a early delivery of about 34-35 wks. the way it looks now. I also have to do a protien 24 hour kidney test each week until I deliver. My BP is better and considered normal but have swelling in my feet along with a little protien from what they see in the 24 hour test I just took. So now its waiting time. Things moved really fast and now I am truthfully a little bit scared. I know that I am going to have to have a C-section which scares the c___p out of me. Avi... a little girl!!! yippy. So excited for you. A little princess for you as well. How are you feeling? How is the swelling and CTS in your hands? Any braxton hicks??? I think i have started to have them... my tummy gets tight and then kind of just fades after about 30-40 seconds. But I dont know what to look for so I cant say for sure. By the way... I have tried the tums and milk for a while now and nothing. I am pretty much just out of luck and going to have to tough this out for the remainder of the way. However, I do get a little bit of solace from cookies and milk at night. HEHEHE. Hard to beleive that my pregnancy will be over within the next month or so. Helene... how is your little teddy doing? Still feeling a lot of movement? What about nausea??? any relief with that? When are you going to stop working? You are a teacher right? How long will you find a sub for? Zay28... I am in Alexandria VA. I am a social worker but currently on bed rest. So i work from home doing the records. My husband works as a government contractor and works with ITT and booze allen. U mentioned that you are from a country where they only do c-sections... where are you from? Seriously I would love to hear more about it. Like i said before I am very scared. Hi! Avi - Congrats! You must be so excited! Two princessses and prince so far for this board! For some reason I had a feeling you were having a girl, I don't know why. Thanks for the info, but like Kim, I have been doing the tums and milk for a while, and most of the time it works, but tums has begun to lose its long term effect - sometimes i want to puke up the tums later on. Milk works, but only short term. I am still sick, yes, Kim, and Zay (is that your actual name or just a moniker?) I have taken the medicine - it is called zofran and it is safe. I have a friend who took it almost her entire pregnnacy and has to take it again for this one because she has such severe m/s that she was hospitalized for it. I understand how you feel, though, because while I feel like I could have taken it almost every day, I have only taken a it a few times. I took it again a few times this past week because I was throwing up my lunch and feeling like i couild go for a second round soon afterward, but I don't like taking it and besides, a bad side effect is constipation. I have had an amniocentesis and ultrasounds and all have come back perfectly normal, so I am not worried, but I still try to just deal with the m/s most of the time because I never take anything when i am not pregnant, so it kindo f bothers me that I am takign something (even something tha is okay) while I am pregnant. Zay i ahve been to Frederick - my friend's parents live there and I visited with her about 5 years ago - it is a very nice area. Kim aske dthe same question I was wondering - where are you originally from? Kim - school starts for us on the 7th but we have two conference days scheduled for the 5th and 6th. The one on the 6th is probably the formal one - the 5th is just a day we have to sign in and do independnet work which basically means setting up your room. I was planning on working until about a week before my due date, but doc said two to two 1/2 weeks which Ithought was excessive. My wing principal told me to see what happens when I said I didn't want to go out until the week before, in case I am feeling uncomfortable or whatever so I willse. ALl i know is amstarting to feel exhausted at around 4pm again, and my b___t hurts when I sit at the computer for toolong (it is hurting now!) and I must say that 2 weeks before is starting to look good! ha, ha! Especially if I am still having nausea and heartburn daily by then. Yes, to whoever asked (I forget) I feel the baby moving but he is not a really active baby. He tends to do more rolling around than kicking and he kicks in spurts, mostly at night (10 pm he usually starts up) or early morning. Sunday morning i was lying in bed wathcing my stomach move as he moved and kicked and it was quite a laugh! DH is a little freaked out by the whole thing - he said it is like an alien which cracks me up. He was worried it hurt me at first. He hasn't felt him move yet because as soon as even I put my hand there the little stinker stops kicking or moves to a new spot. Such a tease! Tomorrow I have a doc appt and get to drink the disgusting glucose drink. I hope I don't throw it up and I hope it doesn't coe back positive because lately I have been craving sweets especially ice cream, and I hate to give up anything that doesn't make me puke, especially the carbs. thta would suck. Hi girls: My name is zaida. I am from Venezuela. It is hard to explain how the health system works in my country, but it is very affordable compared to here. My uncle works for a private clinic. In his clinic last year only one baby born naturally. There are private clinics and hospital that they are free. So, a medium cla__s family can easily afford a private clinic and insurance help too. I had my first one in George Washington University in DC. I was scared about the csection, I remember the nurse, anesthesiology lady start to do ma__sage in my back and they ask me don't move. The room was freezing and they rubbing my back with something very cold. Don’t pinch me in several parts (it didn’t hurt) and i believe they were looking at my reaction and see if i will move. I didn't feel when they actually put the epidural, i remember here saying here we go and a flame started from my foot to my head, i feel like a wave of heat. in less than 5 second i could not move and they help me to lay down. The attached my arms so i could not move. The put a curtain in the middle so I could no see the actual surgery. I was complete awake waiting to see my baby. The they cut very low where le bikini line starts. Even if I want to use a very s_xy bikini you could no see the line. Acctualy is two points what you can see. After two weeks I was driving and doing normal live. Please try to eat very lite and most liquids a week before you section. Having my baby didn’t hurt at all, but side effect of the anesthesia is constipation and a week later after the surgery I went to the bathroom. Girl let me tell you that is when a felt my labor pain. Only thing that I recommend you after you have your Csection and you recover about two months or so use something to around your waist. Corset? maybe is the name in English? It is very tight a that put back on place everything. We do that in our country, and some abdominal after 4 months. Otherwise you will see little belly hanging out very ugly. Kim what hospital are you going?? Are you going to inova Fairfax?? GW , Columbia hospital for women?? I know you can have a private room in Inova and GW. After a csection you will be in the hospital more days and some privacy won’t hurt. My cousin have a baby and she share her room we a Oriental lady. Oh my God!! It was very noisy and family of the lady next to her ending asking my cousin details about the baby, names and all of that. It was terrible. Helene I live in Frederick too. I used to live in Rockville area in MD. But after the bum of real state we decide to move to a single family home and we bought a new home in Frederick. More house for your money. I had a townhouse that I sold and the profit of the sale almost pay the new house. We have been here for about 3 years. This area is more quite and kind country. I have terrible times to adjusting. Thanks God I have good neighbors, my house it is really pretty and it is about 7 miles from my work. My husband works mostly from home so it is perfect. We always make jokes about winning the lottery and moving to northern VA. Well ladies that is all for now. Kim don’t worry about your Csection, you baby will be less red and she will have less bruises and no cone head. J The only thing you won’t be able to do is carry your baby in the car seat at the beginning. It is really heavy. You should avoid lifting weight.

Good morning ladies? I only remember the name of the only prince of this forum so far. Teddy!!! I don't know yet the s_x of my baby, but i had the names since my hubby and I were dating. If we have a girl her name will be Melissa not sure about the second name. For a baby boy it will be William Alexander. It is hard when you are pregnant to say aloud what do you want in terms of s_x. You always say whatever God as long is healthy. My daughter 4 years old went with me to one of my consultations and she asked the doctor if he could give us a baby girl. In her mind baby is going to be a girl because she already talked to the doctor. My m/s are the same. one day worst than other. I will hang on there. Hope to heard from you girls.

Hi Kim, Read your post. So I was looking in the calendar, 34/35 weeks is just about a month b4 the due date. 36 week old baby is full term, but docs know more. What does protein in urine means? Is this all related to BP? Yestereay, I was discussing your pregnancy with my DH and I must say that you are so strong, you have never complained. You have something very special to look forward to. As for the c-section. I was reading an article yesterday...in which they had explained how it is done and how patients feel afterwards...it said once the incision is made in the uterus after the out layer, it is a matter of 5-15 min to meet your baby. When the docs are taking the baby out fromthe stomach, the mother might feel nauseaus, but during c-section they have their whole team standing, one team for the mother, another nurses team for the baby and all. After the baby is out, they put her right on the mother chest, but if you are in pain, then request the nurses and tell your DH to hold the baby for you for just couple min. Sometimes they have to take baby right away for checkup or nicu. After that it takes about 45 min to finish up the cesarean and the book said that starting your labor till the end...tell the doc how much pain your have...if have a lot don't say it is okay, I can bear it. few docs judge by the pain also. After for the recovery after c-section keep your favorite flavored jello at home, rocking chair also helps. there might be swelling, to stockings are helpful. That is all I remember. I am not sure what am I gonna go thru, but I am preparing myself for both. Oh! when in pain distraction is the best...except for the pushing period. So I have told my DH to gather funny stories so far. This sunday my friend delivered a baby boy at the same hosp where we will go...I asked my DH...do you think so I will be a chichen? He was like you will be fine, since you had two surgeries b4. I was like as long as you are there, I am gonna be fine. You will be fine. You know it is healthy to be nervous a bit. Also, now I know you from 8 months, so it feels like as if I know all of you personally. Good luck with your growth scan. I do not have any Braxton Hicks contractions as of yet. My CTS and feet are worse than b4. My feet are swollen like anything, even though I keep them up. I get cramps upto my knees shooting from my feet. feel like chopping my right hand especially. Now actually I have become impatient sometimes. You know I have become so clumsy. In our laundry room, instead of putting my t-shirt in the washing machine, put it in the big garbage can. But later after an hour I was exhuasted and had some nausea with dizziness, which is common. Okay, this morning I was shocked, I have gained about 22lbs now and within past two weeks I have gain more weight. I didn't wanna cross 170lbs, but today I weighed 171. My goals was 24lbs, so that goes down the drain. But now I am targeting no more than 26lbs. Let us see. Also, my maternity t-shirt when I wore, I could not believe it was my tummy. It looked huge in that shirt than before. I am not sure, but I have been craving sweets like anything fromt he past three weeks. I had cholcolates, cupcakes, milkshakes, lots and lots of icecream. Anyhow, regarding work...yes sitting must be hard for long periods. Including b___ts, starting 7/8months...lower back also hurts, so be careful and take care. when you are sitting jsut reading sometimes...just make a fist and release quickly...do some excercise b/c you also mentioned about CTS. First, I bought him a cologne and an aftershave set Hei brand. Then I was stil not satisfied, so I kept roaming in the mall, I had the worst constipation...took several rounds of the restroom, sat down....had a vanilla cone from MacD. Then roamed again and at the Hallmark, I saw this wooden sculpture hand made from Willow Tree Trade mark...husband sitting down holding his little baby in his hands and wife bent on her knees ...keeping hands on husbands upper arms. it is so cute how your little daughter asked for a sis. AVI for constipation i am eating plums now. Is the best and most effective laxative that i found so far. One in the morning and one in the after noon. With my first baby i gained 50 pounds. So 26 lbs is really good. Two weeks later after delivery i was 30 lbs less. Baby was 9 1/2, only there. But I retained lot liquids and my ankles and legs didn't have shape at all. so right there is more pounds. I b___st feed until she was four months. I used the pump for that. I try to let her to do it from my b___st but that hurts a lot> Ok girls I know what are you thinking and yes you are right, I am the biggest chicken in the world. I don’t like pain. They said that b___stfeed helps to get closer mother and baby and blah blah blah. Yes it sound pretty but it also hurts. I breasf for 4 months until I could no get any more. I lost in those 4 months 18 pounds doing nothing.

hi ladies. I am a little concerned. I am experiencing lightv____al flow. it is brown and this is happening for more than three days. It is like old blood only when i wipe myself. I am still on prometrium, twice v____ally. I am not sure if this is an irritatation of my utero due to the medication. I use a regular pad . even without the pad the amunt it is not enoguh to traspa__s to my pants. .It islite but it makes me worry anyhow. I haven't call the doctor yet because i thinl is normal but at the same time i get worry.

Hi, Ziada! Brown is usually old blood, but i would call the doc just the same. I am a worrier, so I call the doc for everything adn let him/her decide what is or isn't normal. I would rather have them call me in and examine me and say all is okay and i feel like a fool, then I don't call and it is somethign I should have had checked out. Better safe than sory. Good luck!

Thankks ladies for all the advice about the lucose drink. I didn't have to do it yet - apparently they just gave me a prescipriotn to go to the lab in a few weeks. Avi - You are too funny about liking it - a friend on another post told me it tasted like really concentrated fanta or sunkist. My mom gave me a WIllow Tree statue of a pregnant woman holding her belly when I was visiting her last month. I love it. The zofran amde me severely constiptaed so I felt like I was between a rock and ahard place - eitehr puking every day or in pain from the constipation. Ah well! Eat lots of fiber or carry a barf bag wherever I go. Kim - that is grea that you are able to do work at hoem . I am sure it is a relief that you can work your schedule out that way. Don't worry about having a c-section. I know several women who have had two each and all went well. Zaida did a greta job of describing it, too. Ihave seen the post-pregnancy "corset" that you mention. I am thinking of getting the pregnanyc belt to help with my back once school starts up again because I think my herniated dsic will start to cause problems when I am back on my feet more often.

I called the doctor, nurse said when is red and bright like aperiod with abdominal cramps call us because it is a M/c otherwise hang up there because it is normal. I don't know if it is normal or not, but i didn't have that my first time and also i didn't have problems with progesterone. She told me that the old blood is comming from the implatation. It could be that is missed two times the prometrium. Since i have to have two at day. a miss one at night and three days latter a miss the other one. Tomorrow will be my 11 week and i supposed to take prometrium untli i finish my 12 week. Looking forwar for that. I jus HATE it, the mess the inconvinience. etc.etc. Kim how is your protein in your urine? I haven't herard from for about a week. I hope that you are taking a bed rest seroiusly and you are fine.
