I called the doctor, nurse said when is red and bright like aperiod with abdominal cramps call us because it is a M/c otherwise hang up there because it is normal. I don't know if it is normal or not, but i didn't have that my first time and also i didn't have problems with progesterone. She told me that the old blood is comming from the implatation. It could be that is missed two times the prometrium. Since i have to have two at day. a miss one at night and three days latter a miss the other one. Tomorrow will be my 11 week and i supposed to take prometrium untli i finish my 12 week. Looking forwar for that. I jus HATE it, the mess the inconvinience. etc.etc. Kim how is your protein in your urine? I haven't herard from for about a week. I hope that you are taking a bed rest seroiusly and you are fine. Avi and Helene hope you are good too. I am waiting for my first thrimester scrining test and NT. i have that on september 12

Hi Zay, Mostly I have heard that brown stuff is old blood, but if you are using prometrium, then it could be due to that also. I had brown discharge and lots of mentrual like cramps. It is a tough situation, but not to think about it too much. Just talk to us, if it bother you a lot. If you read our early posts Kim did a terrific job helping me. I don't think so that missing pro twice will impact like this. I only used pro for like two weeks. Only, on pro I had the ugly brown discharge especially the days when I strained too much.you already have a little one, it might be more challenging, but make sure you take some rest. Also, take lots of rest and which week are you at right now? HELENE, howdy? did you already take the glucolse test? Howz the little teddy? My little one is doing fine too. What is a barf bag? Oh I wanted to ask this to you and Kim that from where did you order the crib? Take care gals. KIM, waiting to hear from you, but take your time.

zay28 - August 29

Hey girls, I hope Kim write today and tell us she is doing good. AVI here in MD there are two stores dedicated to babies, One is Great beginnings http://www.greatbeginningsonline.com/store/ and another one called buybuy baby. I ordered my crib from great beginnings the delivery took around 8 weeks. I know some of you are very close to the due date, so it is time to do it now. I don’t recommend buying the crib that changes to a bed in the future. Number one they are ugly and two at the time that you need to buy the attachment to convert the crib into a bed you will find out that is equally expensive than buy a bed for the baby or you won't find the machitn pieces. Wasite of time.. I moved to house and I buying furniture little by little (it is taking f o r e v e r) and always take around 8 weeks to get them. Well my brown blood stops again. It is crazy, when I start to get worry it stops. Today I am officially 11 weeks, and I started wearing maternity blouses. I am not showing but I am big enough for my cloth to be tight in the waist. I am in a size where my cloths don’t fit, a size up is to big around my hips, and maternity cloths are to big. I decided to look like a clown for at least a month. Looking funny but comfy. Helene those letters are very nice. Teddy is a short name easier to fit in the room. You buy them in blue??.

Helene - August 29

Hi, Zaida! ACtually the letters were plain white - you are supposed to paint them or sponge them or I guess just leave them white. The baby's room is goign tobe blue (yeah, I know - how stereotypical!) so I will leave them white or paint them another color like red or yellow. I was thinking i could paint red "tsicthing"marks on them like a baseball, as the bedding I picked out is called all star, but I am afraid that the poor kids first full sentence wilbe "mommy, I hate sports and teddy bears!" I keep doing all these sports because dh is a big sports fan (NY -Yankees, Rangers, Giants) and tedy bears because of his name, and animals. Ha! Years ago I swore I would not stereotype my kids, but it is all so d__ned cute, and I figure even if he'd been a girl there would have been plenty of sports influence. Glad to hera your brown bleeding has stopped. Buy Buy Baby is up here, too , but in NJ. My sister wants me to register there as well as Bbaies R US but I keep telling he rthta it makes no sense becauise only she and about three others actually live in NJ - the rest are mostly in NY and CT. I can't even pull up a web site for the store which really annoys me becaues I wanted to check it out and seeif it was in PA or New Engalnd or some ofthe other states that the other shower guests are from. No, I am not bothering with a ocnvetrible cirb. I figure why? Our room is so small and the house so small that hopefully by the time this little guy is ready for a toddler bed, we will be having number 2 who can use the crib and we will then have to find a bigger house. I would rather just buy a toddler bed, becaues I had a feeling that it would be the way you said - not worth it. And like I said - we hope to use the crib twice! We are ordering the furniture in the next couple of weeks - we just wantde to finish painting the room and moving stuff which hopefully will be done this weekend. I wanted to put a laminate floor in the room, but things are so hecti what with school starting for me and dh (he doesn't teach, but is a custodian ata differetn school and they are running raggde trying to get the school in shape) that I decided to bag that idea and just put in new vinyl tile. My mom pointde out that the room is so smal that when i put in the area rug, it will cover a lot of the floor anyway, so why drive dh crazy with somethiing that isn't worth it? Sounds good, and I can use the money we save on a rocker! LOL!

Hey, I am so sorry about all the typos - I am a terrible typist. I hope I don't make you crazy trying to read my posts - I am sure that as this is your second language it is harder to to figure out the context of what I am saying when I make so many typos. By the way, that one typo was "st_tching." I wil try to proofread better next time. Would you believe that before I taught I worked in publishing and did tons of proofreading and editing? Ha! Scary thought, no?

Hello Ladies... Where to begin. On thurs. night I was admitted to the hospital because baby girl was showing low respitory motion. Friday they did test after test. Saturday the same thing. On saturday evening at 6:47pm baby girl Sierra Rose Andrews was born via c-section at 32 wks. 3 days. She was born weighing 3 lbs. 9 oz. but has lost 6 oz due to that it was not a v____al birth. She will remain in the Neonatal intensive care unit for 4-6 wks. until she can maintain her body temp. Gain double her weight and pa__s some other standard tests they require. She was born breathing on her own and does not require any additional breathing help. She is doing great and is a fighter. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Today was so hard having to leave her at the hospital. They are giving her the best care there and they are the number 1 neonatal unit in the country. Babies born after 30 wks. have a 90 % survival rate and we pray that she will be ok. Honestly... it all happened so fast. I was a very scarey experience being rushed to a c-section but I would do it again in a heartbeat. They worst part was the IV sticks. They could not find a vein because I was super swollen They poked me 12 times with litacaine to find a good vein. Then i had a spinal. Not to bad... didnt feel much because I was in shock of what was happening. Doctors were not sure what her condition was going to be when they took her out so neonatal was waiting in the delivery room. Baby girl came out screaming and kicking like nothing was wrong. What a great feeling it is to hear your child cry and see her for the first time. I am so sorry that i could not write sooner but my lap top dial up service was not working in the hospital. I can not believe my pregnancy is over and that my little one is not fighting for her life in NICU. We just keep praying she will be ok. How are things for you all? I have not had a chance to read all the postings yet??? Please send me email addresses so I can email pics of my precious princess to you all. Hope to hear from you. XOXOX

Helene - August 30

Oh Kim -FIrst - congratulations on your beautiful littel flower, Sierra Rose! I am so sorry that she had to be born in tis fashion but I think you have a tough little girl there from the way she came out kicking and screaming! I had two friends years ago who had both been born 2 mos. (8 weeks) early, and they were two very healthy young women - te one was an old college roomate and I used to say she looe dlike she should be hiking in a J Crew catalog, who would have known she had been born that soon. And remember - these women were born in the late '60's early '70's - technology is way beyond what is was then, so Sierra will be fine. The fact taht she was breathing on her own already is such an important step for her - I believe that is their biggest concern when babies are born at that age, so she really is a tough ilttle chickie! (like her mama!). All my thoughts and prayers are with you and Sierra and your dh at this time. Don't worry - they say when they are born early that it does take thema litle longer to catch up with certain things, but that they do make up fro it. And these days they do so much with early intervention services that it is even faster. Thta must have been so scary goign into the c-section under those cirucmstances - i am SO HAPPY that you had such a good outcome - both of you. Hope you are feeling well, too. I have such a good feeling that Sierra is going to be the little girl who five yeras everyone points to and says, look at that beauty - can you believe that smart, healthy, vivacious little girl showed up 8 weeks early? In the meantime, I know you must be dying to take her home. Just hold on to the fact taht you know you will be able to take her home soon.

Zaida - Thanks so much for all the advice. DH says leave the letters white - I figure I will wait until I get the bedding and other stuff in to see what I should do. Your friend's little boy's room sounds adorable. I am so impressed by you! My brother is a professional artist (sports illustration) and he painted his son's room to look like thee locker room at Yankee Stadium. It looks amazing. We have a very tiny house, so the advice about what not to get is also very appreciated as I don't want to buy things that take up space and are not going to be of much use. My friend gave us her old swing, and the funny thing was that I wasn't even sure I wanted to bother getting one. I have heard some kids love it and others could care less. Right now it is sitting in my dining room and it keeps getting in the way, so I am seriosuly thinking of just getting rid of it. Maybe I will will just try it out a few times and see if he likes it, and if not, ditch it. They don't want it back. As for the bottles, I need to get bottles that work with b___stfeeding because I have read that if you get the wrong type you will actually just undermine your own efforts. My sister had the Dr. Brown bottles (she didn't b___stfeed) and my mom thought they were the most amazing things because my niece never got ga__sy and my mom swears she never heard of a kid who didn't get ga__sy (I told her bottles have probably improved in the last 30 something years since she used them!). I laughed when you said that the baby will say teddy bears are for girls when he gets older - too cute. My friend was up today with her 3-year-old son and I brought them to this farm near our house to see the animals. We were in the counrty store part and I walked over to the freezer case to get a bottled water and he yelled out," Helene - are you getting a beer?" The woman who worked in the store cracked up laughing! I laughed and said, "Oh, trust me, I haven't had a beer in at least 7 months!" He is a little city boy and when he goes to the corner store with mom or dad probably sees a lot of people pulling a six pack out of the refrigerator case. So funny.

Hi Kim, First of all I would like to congratulate you and your husband. A hug your way and now you are a mom officially. How nice!!!!!!! Both of yours parenthood has started. Your little angel Sierra Rose has arrived, Wao!!!. I am so happy for you and everything is gonna be fine the way you are telling. It is good that she cried outloud...her lungs are already mature and seems to be active little baby doll. As Helene says Sierra Rose seems as strong as her mommy. Little Kim has arrived. I am dying to see her pic now. Also, guess what? Sierra Rose is born on my birthday. Yeeeha, we share something common. One of my friend gave birth at 28 weeks two years ago and her son is doing awesome now. Do you have to pump the milk and take it to the hosp for her everyday? My friend had to do that... nurses used to tell her to hold her baby, since parents touch help them health wise also. I can see how everything happened so fast for you. God bless all of you. How is your health? Hopefull, the hosp is not that far from your home. After few days you can go the hosp, or everyday since you had the c-section. With IV do have more swelling and all? Fruits, Jelly are good after c-section. Fenugreek seeds herbal tea and roasted garlic (garliic bread...) helps for milk productiion as told by our Lamaze teacher. Take good care of yourself. My e-mail address: Sanjavi7@yahoo.com lots of love and congrats once again.

Technology is very advanced, and you Sierra will be home pretty soon. I would like to see the pictures if you don't mind. My email is Zlujano@hotmail.com. . Kim I am curious how are your b___sts and your milk production? Are you trying to get some?. Kim agian congartulations and a lot kisses to the beautiful girl. My dh born at 30 week in the 60s. He was a very tinny little thing and today he is a 6'1". Vanessa my almost five year started kindergarten yesterday ( full day). Well she decided to get off in the wrong bus stop. I was scared to death. Almost in tears when I didn't see her in the bus. I live in a new community so i don't know anybody and it was her first day. I started to run with my heels to the other bus stops and finally I found her very happy because she crossed two streets by herself and she makes sure that she look both sides and she said: mommy the bus landed and I get off I am a big girl. Too independent. Oh my God!!. So Kim pretty soon Sierra will start saying thing that will make you laugh to death. Kids are the most beautiful thing. Enjoy every minute because times goes fast and pretty soon Sierra will leaving you to go to college. Helene, I haven't tried the bottles that you mentioned I will look at them. I hope you are not painting the room, the smell could make you fell sick.

AVi, i didn't know about the roasted garlic and the tea. I remember wheni was b___stfeeding that if i eta proteins ( ground beef and chicken) my body produce more milk and of course a lot fluids.. I used to fill 8 oz bottle from each b___st. It was amaizing but it last for 4 months. I never froze that, and i was disposing at the begining almost half of what i was producing.I won't do that this time, a__suming that I can produce the same.

Hi ladies... thanks for all the comments and well wishes. Things on my end are going well. I am healing slowly but surely. However, one word of advise... if you happen to have a c-section dont lay down all day. Get up and move around. It has done a world of difference for me. i am not stiff and I feel so much better. I think keeping your range of motion is so vital in a surgery like this. Anyways, Sierra Rose Andrews is doing very well. She is growing the way she needs to and is thriving very well. She has such a personality already. When she was just a few days old on Sunday the nurse told me that she has a bit of a att_tude problem. I think that is great. She's got character. I am going to post some more pics of her on the website sometime today. Lets see... as far as my milk production goes, I am trying to stop the lactating. i am not b___st feeding as it was not feezable with her in NICU and me at home. The docs feel that being that my kidneys were starting to fail from the pre elampsia that its better if i just give my body a break. The frist two days I didnt really have any milk. I even started to wonder if i was going to get any... now its like my b___bs are two times the size. I have leakage but not as bad as it could be. I have a pad to stop the leaking and I wear a really tight bra to help control the aching. Avi... how are you doing? Are you hanging in there? Not to much longer for you darlin' Are your visits to the doc weekly now??? I bet you are getting so excited. That is the only part I feel that I missed out on is the anticipation of this whole thing. It was such an unexpected thing and it all happened so fast. Cherish your pregnancy girl... savor each moment. And pictures girl... its all about the pictures. I never took a pregnancy photo because i kept thinking i had more time. :( but now I have baby photos instead. :) How about you helene? How are you feeling? Hows the nausea? Oh by the way ladies... I am still nauseas every morning beleive it or not. Hormones are still raging I am guessing. LOL. Helene, anything new going on with the pregnancy? Zaida, thanks for the comments on baby girl. I am glad you enjoyed the pics. I will send more soon. Feel free to check out the website. The link is on the posting a few weeks up. but if you cant find it let me know and i will post it again. How are things going with you? I loved your story about the first day of kindergarden. its so true on how fast they grow up. You gotta love every minute of it though. Oh and ladies... by the way it is so hard to find premie clothing. I had to find a specialty store that makes clothes for babies under 5 lbs. Anyways, hope to hear from you all soon. All my love and well wishes to you all. xoxo
