HI Helene, Zaida and KIm, How is the weekend going on for all of you? Kim is your dh on leave from work? I saw little Sierra Rose's pics, gave me goose bumps in one of the pics where she is in the sitting position and crying...it is like I can hear her voice. What a cutie pie! How do you feel now wiht c-sec? Is it hard to get up from the bed and sofa? How do you take shower? does it hurt? When do you go to see your baby? I showed my dh your delivery pics also. YOu know now a days there is way toooooo much excitement inside me. It is b/c I think the t ime is coming nearer and nearer to meet my little one also. we have liek 6-7name selected but still not satisfied. We are looking for an Indian name (fromIndia), but want an easy one for pronounciantion or so. Helen, howz the baby nursery prep going on for ya? Your bro seems to be gifted in terms of art. we live in a 2 bedroom apartment so no painting. All the furniture is here except for the crib which is on the way..we are tracking it and should be herenext week or so. I got my rocking chair also. Ottoman is really helpful with jumbo feet. So are you done with the painting? It must be so hectic for ya with school starting and all. But good for you. The way you have desribed, I really like the theme and decor part. I truly believe that we should really go with our strong feelings. How is your health? HI Zaida, howz the health for ya? I am really glad that your brown bleeding? has stopped. so you are in the second trimester eh? So what else does your daughter say? that was so cute how she said the other day that now she is a big girl, but scary at the same time as she did not show up at her own bus stop. good that you went to the other bus stop, but it must be tiring. Your ultrasound must be due now. wish you all the best. Rest I will write later. love and have a nice weekend.

Hi, ladies! Had computer problems and was off line for a few days. Kim - How are you doing? Yes, I have hear dthe same thing about getting up and moving around as much as you can handle after a c-section and any surgery - it is not healthy to be still, they say - greater chance of infection and illness. I responded to the e-mai you gave in one of your earlier posts - did you get it? I just didn't want to post my e-mail because my last name is in it and it is very uncommon, and while I have no problem with you ladies having it, I worry about the occasional crazy person who lurks but doesn't post (we had a crazy woman on another link that hara__sed a couple of the girls on there until we reported her). If you don't have it, let me know and I will just post it on here. I would love to see Sierra's pics. Avi - Our place is small, too even though it is a house. It is only 2 bedrooms as well and we have been doing a lot of "relocating" and discarding of things that used to be in the second bedroom. The room is almost there. It is now "baby boy blue" (paint name) and just needs the trim painted white and the floor tiles replaced. I decided to scratch my idea of doing laminate because it is so close to when school starts, plus dh promised to paint my niece's new bedroom in my sis' new house and they are closing on the house in a week or so. So we are just going to rip up the old tiles and put down new vinyl.. The room is so tiny that as my mom pointed out, the area rug will cover most of the floor anyway. I am doing well other than the m/s which is still with me,although yesterday was better and today so far is really good (no nausea or horrific heartburn).I have been sleeping in the recliner in the living room and hoping that the inclined posiiton is helping the acid reflux which the doc seemed to think was the reason I keep vomiting. We shall see! I am having a hard time getting to sleep at night probably because that is when I feel best! and thus I have a hard time waking up - figures - just in time for school to start! DH has the opposite problem - now that school starts he is back to working nights but he keeps waking up early and it is hard to stay awake at night! Zaida - I loved the story about your daughter and the bus - I can just imagine her all excited and proud about being such a "big girl" meanwhile you poor thing are running in your heels, pregnant and all! Too funny! MY brother's oldest duaghter did something similiar in kindergarten. She is such a social b___terfly and was so busy talking away that she missed her bus stop one day. My brother jumped in the car and followed the bus until it stopped and she finally got off. He said he saw her finally realize she had missed her stop and stand up and look out the window and all he could see were these huge brown eyes like saucers! We all laughed because she has these big brown eyes, like my sister, and my dad always called them "little Lulu eyes" after some cartoon character of a little girl from the '40's who had huge eyes so we could just imagine! And it was so no shock that the little chatterbox would be yapping away and miss her stop. She still tallks your ear off - my brother says she takes after his sisters. LOL!

HI gals, how are you? Helene, your little niece seems to be quite active and the story is funny. My niece at the age of 5 asked me that aunty when are you going to have your baby. I said, I already have a baby. She is like who? I am lilke you are my baby. Then she goes, no no the one from your tummy, from the hospital one. Yesterday, she was telling me that it has been two months she saw me. I feel so lucky to have her. Helene, Tums and me are not getting along. The taste itself makes me puke, which I have been doing since last week and was wondering hw you ladies handle cuz I had to hold my big tummy. anyhow, another month....but it is like I wanna enjoy more. Kim, how is Sierra doing? Did the hospital guys tell you about when she would be leaving for home? How is she gaining weight? How isyour blood pressure now? Is it normal or it is still gonna take some time. Even though sometimes you must be at home, but you must be thinking constantly about your little precious princess. In hosp though, she is growing and preparing to comehome soon. Zaida, howz it going for ya my dear. Send us your baby's u/s pic whenever you get it. Helene, you can create another account with yahoo or so. god bless!

Helene - September 4

Avi - that is so funy that you said that about tums because I have been having that probem quite a bit. They go down okay at first but soon after I get this awful taste like I ate alka seltzer and I think they are goign to come up, soI eat them very sparingly. Milk works better - no after taste, but unfortuntaley it doesn't last too long. I keep saying the same thing - I want to enjoy this pregnancy as much as possible, but sometimes i feel liek such a whiner when I go on about all the m/s and the heat. Now it is rather cool here in NY, so I get out a lot more, but I am getting short of breath and tired more often these days - welcome to the 3rd trimester, I guess! LOL! My niece is really cute, but that is an old story- she just turned 13 last spring and got her braces off and has emerged form that gawky little preteen stage looking gorgeous. My other brother's oldest daughter turned 12 at the same time and she looks like she is 15 and she is obsessed with boys and makeup - I keep telling them they are killing me by making me feel so old! The 13 year old has a sister who is 8 1/2 and another who will be 11 next month, and the 12 year old has a brother who turns 10 on 9/11. They are all growing up so fast - thank goodness for my sister's little 2-year old daughter - I still have a "baby" around! She is so funny when I babysit - she keeps patting my belly and saying "baby." She was playing with the dolls in her dollhouse and I kept asking her what all the names were - they are all named after her cousins - LOL! SO when she picked up the baby I asked what the baby's name was and she said, "Baby Teddy," which just about killed me! I don't know if she named the baby doll that or if she just thought I meant the baby in my belly because she said it so matter-of-factly, like, gee don't you know that? Yeah, I used to have a yahoo address thta I would also use, but I hadn't used it in so long that they closed the account. Ha, ha! SO maybe I wil open another one. What are some of your names tha you have picked? I think that it is neat that you guys are going with Indian names. I think your name and your dh's name are very easy to pronounce. I had a friend when I was in elementary school whose name was Priya which I thought was really pretty.

I will be by them 13 weeks and i am not sure if we can see the baby s_x by them. Kim, is right whwn she said if you keep moving you will feel better after a Csection. I remeber i was leaving in a town house very small and i have to go up and down like 100 times during the day. I was so lucky that i didn't feel anything after i leave the hospital. No problem for laying down and getting up. I hoope Kim is feeling the same way. Avi my browns spots stoped. I will have 8 more days on prometrium. I am planing to set up a website for Vanessa and new baby pictures. I hope evrybody is doing ok, and hope helene your feel better pretty soon. sanjavi77 - September 5

Hi Zaida, congrats first of all, you are in the second trimester. nice to hear that you are feeling better that b4 energy wise. I am originally from India, but have been living in Canada b4 marriage, since my teenage, so I feel more belongingness over here and I am still able to enjoy both Western and Eastern cultures. However, my dh is from India and came here as a Software Engineer after completing his Masters. In India itself there are so many languages and basically four religions: Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christians. My husband is a Hindu from Southern India and I am a Sikh. We both have different languages adn culture, but thank god t here is English, THE universal language and plus we both speak the national language of India. I have been living in beautiful Himalayas in a city where Dalai Lama lives. I follow him and Mother Terresa to help people in need....anyhow I will just carry on this later...I am just too emotional right now. Helene, your niece is so sweet...it is cute for a little one to name her dolls as her cousins and I thik Teddy she kept for the baby b/c may be she heard the name from you. I love the way how little children pat my belly too. One of my friend's daughter pat my belly and told me that I know there's a baby here. My friend has two daughters, so she asked is there more baby in my mom's stomach...Oh well. You know there is one thing that is upsetting me. I just want to share, if it is bothersome you may ignore it at this stage. Last week my grandmother pa__sed away in India. My dh told me yesterday morning b/c nobody wanted to tell me right away. My dad flew last Thursday booking his flight and told me that he had business work in korea. I kept wondering howcome he is leaving w/o his a__sistant. I am the oldest among all the cousins and my grandma was the most expressive among allthe family members, very tall, talented, never saw her complaining and whenever I and my bro would go to meet her...she would open her arms as wide as she could. On Aug 26th, it was my b'day, so just by chance I thought to call my grandparents b/c they are too old. I am glad that I called. I received so many blessings. b/c of her age she could not hear properly, but she kept asking, how are you....not telling me that she has some pain or so. anyhow, my grandpa told me yesterday that don't worry...take care...your grandma pa__sed away very peacefully. Sorry, to talk about this with you guys, just felt like it. Take Care, I wonder howz Kim and her family doing. love all.

Avi, i know how hard is being far away from teh family. My parents live in venezuela and sometimes i think that the time is pa__sing and we are not spending enough time together. that day will come and I know i will regreat it. I know how you feel . Your Grandma is heaven and is good to know that she pa__s away peacefully. My husband dad pa__s away before vanessa born. He had a big huge hart. I adored him and enjoy his company. I have hispic in the refrigerator We always tell vaneesa that he is in the sky and he was very funny guy. One day my sister in law come to my house and aout of not where she asked vaneessa awho was the guy with the santa hat. She repsonded to her so excited that he was gramdpa george and started talking about him like she knew him. AT the end the my little parrot told her that she wish that she is superman s she can fly to the sky and bring him down. Avi iam very sorry for your loss.

Hi, ladies! Ziada, it is Avi who is form Inida - I just had afriend whose parents were from India and theygave her an Indian name. I am from New York - have lived here all my life, although I did live in NJ briefly. Thank you for your sympathy for the m/s - it has actually been very good the past few dyas. Congrats on the 12 week mark! THta is such a big deal, and such a reklief, especially when you can stop the supplements. AVi - I am so sorry about your grandmother. I have one grandparent left, my 98--year-old grandmother who is just an amazing woman. I can only imagine how awful you must feel - my grandmother and my parents are in NC which is far enough away as it is. WHen i was down there this summer realized that I hadn't seen her in more than 2 yeras because she no longer travels (too much for her) and the past few times I saw my parents they had come up north so obviously she wasn't with them. MY parents are alos the only grandparents my little boy will have, which makes me kind of sad. MY husband's om died about two years before we met, and his father died four years. I never had the chance to meet his mom, but his dad was a great person - I am sorry that my son will not gte to meet his grandpa who was also a Ted. MY first pregnanyc ended at 7 weeks, so I never knew what the gender was, but in my heart I always felt it was a boy, and I told my mom thta in my mind I see him as a baby being held by my other grandother who loved babies, aand dh's mom who I nvere met, and his grandmother who was an amazing lady and would have doted on him, and I also picture him as a littlle boy playing softball with my husband's dad. Maybe it is too cheesy, but that is what I always pictured and it makes me happy to think that they are together.

Helene - September 5

Ladies I am sorry for the awful typos - I am so tired from being at school today and trying to set up my room at the last minute that I didn't even bother to proofread. Must be horrible to read my post.

knpandrews - September 6

Hi Ladies... First off let me say, Avi... I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Please know that she will forever be looking down on you. I know how heartbroken you must be but try and keep your head up. Baby girl Sierra is doing very well. Thriving and growing like she should. She is back up in weight again. She was born at 3 lbs. 9 oz. lost 6 oz. in water. Now she is back up to 3 lbs. 10 oz. and eating like a champion. Docs say that she is sucking on a pacifier for a 10 lb. baby but when they take it away from her she freaks. LOL. The nurse love her because she has a personality. They say she keeps them laughing with her att_tude. I cant help but think that she got that from her daddy. ok ok ok.. truth be told she probably got that from me. Doctors are looking for her to come home within 2-3 wks. but they want to make sure she pa__ses all of their required tests. Such as sitting in a car seat for 90 min. with no respitory problems. Eating 45 cc of 22 cal. formula every 3 hours and has to be able to regulate her body temp on her own. She is getting their slowly but surely. Honestly... it gets harder to leave the hospital each time. The recovery process for me is going ok. I am not in pain. Just sore. I cleaned the whole house today with no pain or soreness. I just know that I have to take it slow and not over due it. I expected the whole healing process to go alot slower but so far so good. The only part that is that the bottom part of my tummy is still hard. The scar is large but not to bad. Not only do i have the scar but I have staple marks to. I have a 2 wk. check up on the 12th so I am hoping all is going well with my pressure and kidneys. My pressure was pretty good so far. I have been checking it daily and its right at about 130/80. Not wonderful but not terrible. Hubby has not taken off from work other then the 3 days after she was born. Mainly because I dont want him to loose pay and i want him to save his hours for when we really need him to use them. He gets 4 hours paid time off every 2 wks. so I like him to save his hours. When she comes home from the hospital that will be a different story maybe he will take off the first 2 days or something. When i was in the hospital he would go in and then come back. He took off a few days and when i got home I was ok for him to go in from 1-9 because I didnt have to worry about getting up and down. I just stayed in bed for the most part other then to get up to get a snack and go to the rest room. When he got home he took me to visit her. Now I can drive so he meets me at the hospital. Well ladies... I need to get going. Please fill me in on whats going on with all of you. Avi... how are things? whats the doc. been saying about you getting close? Helen... I was so glad to hear that the nausea is fading off a little. I was worried that you were going to wind up like me. But seems like so far so good. Zaida... Almost done with the permetrium right? have you had your levels checked? Fill me in ladies... looking forward to hearing back. Keep me posted. XOXO

Helene - September 6

Kim - you sound so good! That is great that you are doing so much, driving and all. Sierra sounds like such a little p__ser! That is funny what they said about the pacifier because that pic of her with this huge thing in her mouth just killed me! From what I hear, it is very normal for babies to lose weight right after they are born (water, I believe) and then put it right back on. She is goignt o be just fine. 20 years from now you will be telling everyone how she is spending her summer vacation biking or hiking her way across the counrty and wondering whatever happened to the fesity little peanut who took the world by storm 8 weeks early! Goodluck with your own recoery as well - hope your kidnesy and all make a quick and full recovery. Take care!

zay28 - September 7

Hi Kim, Helene and AVi. First is good to know that baby Sierra is getting strong to come home. Don't forget her pacifier lady when she go home with you. You will know how is Baby Sierra temper. I am telling you!!! LoL. It is funny now that Kim mention the staples I remember that was the only thing that I remember hurting me. When i was in the surgery room i remember seeing a white rope or pieces cloth over me attached to a pole behind the bed where i was. My husband was with me and I asked him what was that. You know you are in the middle of the surgery waiting for the baby to come out minutes. My husband move to try to identify what was that. I found funny to see that attached to a pole. Well that white thing was stapled to my skin. It keeps the opening so the doctor can take the baby out. He told what was that day later. That mark disappeared. Avi you will feel that scarf big. It is not that big wait until the swelling goes away and your skin come back to normal. Avi I was trying to read more about pre-eclampsia and how it affects you and baby. How was your blood pressure when you started the pregnancy?. My blood pressure is very low 105/72 but it doesn’t mean that it could raise latter on. The highest that I had was when I had an accident on January and it rose to 138//?? When the ambulance people help me to get out of the car. They said even slowing down the amount of salt you can avoid that. Thanks God everything is ok with you, I keep everybody in my prays so each one of us can have a very easy delivery with no PAIN and complications. Helene when are you due? And when is avi due. I know baby sierra and teddy will be crawling and eating table food by the time I am due J I hope we can keep I touch and discuss babies milestone. Helene did you plan to teach the baby your language or your husband language? If so, good luck.!! My little one understands Spanish but she refuses to speak it. My mom is coming in few days and she told me “ well is alela (grandma) is coming tell her to learn English a bring me chocolates. Ok?? . Well I have to go for now. Avi write back and tell us how you are you feeling.

zay28 - September 7

Hey i am sorry for the typos. I mean reducing the amount of sal you can't avoid getting the pre-e. Nothing can help you to avoid getting it.

sanjavi77 - September 7

Hi Zaida, Your daughter is cute ..already thinking how she will converse with her grandma. It is good that your little one understands Spanish. How old exactly she is? How are you doing health wise? Do you take your prenantals regularly? With prenatals I also take Expecta Lipil, you can ask your doc, if you want. I have been taking throughout my preg. good luck with your tests . Also, thanks to all of you for making me feel better. HI Kim, glad to hear about your progress. cool, you are driving and all. I was telling my DH about Sierra's cute att_tude. Nurses must be having a blast with her. already she is bringing smile to so many people. so do you knw about when she will be discharged? you must have some time to catch up or setting up stuff for your daughter at home, but make sure you take enough rest as you said yourself. Do you take any medicine for staples pain or so? They must give something. How do you take shower? As Helene said, I also heard that in the beginning most of the baby's loose wt. and then gain again. I am doing fine apart from the swelling and CTS pain and numbness. My hands are so still in the morning, can't make fist or hold certain stuff. but as you said that your stiffness gone and my doc also says that within few weeks...all will be gone. during the delivery he said they give IV, so that might make the swelling worst, but it will go away eventually. i have been told to keep track of my headaches. I have been having them from the last two months. Thanks to all of you again for sharing my feelings about my grandma. It will take time, but I am doing ok. Zaida, my BP has always been 126/80-118/78 like that...it has been always on the lower side, which is a good sign. I am not much fan of the salt except for the chitos chips, chocolate craving in 8th month increased like anything...but still I did not eat a lot of the high sodium content. When ever I cook my DH and his parents have to add more salt. I am due Oct16th. Can't wait to see my little girl. HELENE, howz it going for you? So now you are also in the last trimester, welcome my dear and the time will go by so quickly, since you work also. How is CTS for you? Any cravings? what week are you in? I am just glad that after next week I will be full-term. During 36th week I will have an ultrasound where they will check baby's position and all. She moves like anything these days. Over all my preg is good I would say. Later half of 8th month I started to feel heavy and get tired easily, severe swelling....doc goes my 5 lbs are right there, since I gained a lot of wt. in couple of weeks all of the sudden. I need nore rest now and I make sure I take a nap b/c at night I can't sleep properly. bathroom trips, constipation ...my stomach hurts sometimes, so I am thinking of taking Colace...over the counter recommended by my doc. Plus my tummy has not dropped yet, so it is so hard to breathe, I keep three pillows . My DH goes first of all make sure we take pillows for you...put it on the list LOL. Helene, you are already using a recliner. I tried that during my 7th month for naps, but I need my comphy bed, since I move a lot. 99% of the shopping is done. Once we setup, I will send pics. Just need to a__semble the crib and armoire now and pack bags for the hosp. Now I can't wait for the delivery. Sometimes I wonder what if I don't have enough b___st mild, but formula is there always...Okay, I hope I have not bored you with preg info. Will post again later. Have fun !

zay28 - September 8

Avi, in my first pregnacy my ankles swell a lot. My legs are kind of chubby, an it was terrible i lost the shape complete. it was ugly looking. It started when i was five monthd pregnant. I went to canc_m for vacation and i thing the weather hot and the food help a lot . Once i was like that it was hard to come back to normal. I used to raise my legs after work at least for couple ahours everyday. I help just a little. I ma size 8 i have to buy shoes 9 1/2 wide so they could fit me. After my baby born, it took about a week to start getting my normal shape and about a month to go back to mi size 8. Mine was terrible, but was only feet and ankles mi hands were ok. I think having b___st milk is a lottery. stimulate your b___st as soon as you can. Do you have some yelloiwsh leakage when you are seeping? I used to wet the bed a little and normally that is a good indication. Vanessa reacted with a ugly rash everytime that i gave her formula. That stressed me a lot. by her 4th month she started tolerating the regular similac but the soy milk was bad to her. bye now ladies , keep in touch

knpandrews - September 11

Hey Ladies... I wanted to let you know some information. Tonight i was talking with the nurse and they started to prepare us to take home baby girl. Well they gave me a packet full of information and programs. Inside the packet she gave me a website www.enfamil.com and it also had a phone number 1(800)baby123. This website has a program called New beginnings and you get up to $250 in baby stuff and discounts. Like fischer price and JC penny portraits. Also, free formula and stuff. I got 4 free cases of formula for the hospital from enfamil because they have a program for mothers of preemies. Its $350 in formula. What a help that will be. I wanted to pa__s along this website and phone number and hopefully you guys can get some good stuff as well. I hope that all is going well for you and that you are all feeling well. XOXO.
