Hey Ladies... I wanted to let you know some information. Tonight i was talking with the nurse and they started to prepare us to take home baby girl. Well they gave me a packet full of information and programs. Inside the packet she gave me a website www.enfamil.com and it also had a phone number 1(800)baby123. This website has a program called New beginnings and you get up to $250 in baby stuff and discounts. Like fischer price and JC penny portraits. Also, free formula and stuff. I got 4 free cases of formula for the hospital from enfamil because they have a program for mothers of preemies. Its $350 in formula. What a help that will be. I wanted to pa__s along this website and phone number and hopefully you guys can get some good stuff as well. I hope that all is going well for you and that you are all feeling well. XOXO.

Hi ladies, I saw pictures of baby Sierra. My favot_te is one with a blue outfit. She looks big in that picture. She is getting big and she is pretty already. I am happy that she is almost ready to go home. Today i have the first trimester scan test and the NT measurement of the baby. This is what i found about the test : " This is a collection of fluid under the skin at the back of a baby's neck at 10-14 weeks that can be measured using ultrasound. All babies have some fluid, but in many babies with Down's the nuchal translucency (NT) is increased. NT scan is a method of a__sessing whether your baby is likely to have Down's syndrome. It's a screening test. A screening test can only estimate the risk of your baby having Down'ssyndrome, . " Well, i am cofident that we will pa__s this test.. I have the doctor appoiment next week and he will give me the results of the blood test plus the NT test. I know already that a correct measuremnt is 2 to 2.8 mm. so i will ask the radiologist what she measured. Avi how are you feeling? Helene ho w is baby teddy doing?? a lot kicking? .

Hi,ladies! Sorry I have not posted in a few days but Iam EXHUASTED being back at school. And i am still sick, unfortunatley which makes it harder. Yes, Zaida, Teddy is kciking, although today was one of his sleepy days. He has them every couple of days where he is less active. I joke that he is is napping and must have had a big growth spurt tthat knocked him out ! I mean he still kicks and moves on those dyas, just not as often. Zay - I think you may have me and Avi confused - I only speak English - born and raised in NY. AVi - I have a student who is originally from India and her name is Sherrin. I love the way she pronounces it, too. Just a suggestion to add to your list. She is a really cute little girl - sweet and personable with a great smile. Kim - I will check out Siera's website. Hope she comes home really soon. Avi - I am 30 weeks on Friday. I would prefer to sleep laying down, but anything to stop the heartburn and nausea - well at least reduce it. It is good for my back, too. I am having the shallow breathing now, too, just in the last two weeks. I am short-waisted, which doesn't give me a lot of room anyway. What is Colace for? My stomach sometiems hurts, too. I have to do the glucose test, and I keep forgetting to call the lab to schedule it. Zaida - don't stress even if the nuchal test comes back irregular - I have heard of people getting CVS and nuchal tests that come back with positive results, then they go for an amnio and everything turns out okay. Good luck!

avi and helene, sometimes i am thinking about one person and the name of other person comes out. I mean avi insted of helene. That happen to me a lot when I am talking about my sister i call her vanessa. My mind plays funny games with me. I went to the NT test. The doctor told me that my baby measure 1.5 mm. The edge where people should get worry about it is when you pa__s 2.5 mm. More than 2.5 mm doesn't mean't anything. I just means that you are in high risk and cvs or annioc. will determine if your baby is comming with problems. Thanks God!! my risk are very down and i am looking for the blood results that test for other cromosomal defects. I started thinking that i am having a baby boy. After yesterday i was sure that i have a baby girl but after seeing the picture of the little one in the screen i got the idea that is a boy. My mind is playing crazy games. :-). The baby didn't want to get in possition for the picture. The doctor asked me to walk down in the corridor so he can moves. Finally he moved and we did the test. He said that my dates may be incorrect because he saw a bigger baby. about one week. He asked me about my first baby weight and high of my first one.
I feel bad for Helene. i can belive you have been sick for 30 weeks. and working as a teacher doesn't make it easier. I don't know what is Colace. :-(
bye for now ladies.

Helene... Hope this helps:
Colace, a stool softener, promotes easy bowel movements without straining. It softens the stool by mixing in fat and water.
Colace is helpful for people who have had recent rectal surgery, people with heart problems, high blood pressure, hemorrhoids, or hernias, and women who have just had babies. Colace Microenema is used to relieve occasional constipation.

Thanks Kim! I may have to keep that in mind if I am not able to manage the constipation. As long as I can get enough fiber in my system, I am usually okay, but the never-ending nausea makes it hard to keep down veggies again. Have been trying to make up for it with fruit and my prenatals. BTW - Sierra just keeps gettin cuter. Zay - Congrats on the good news from the nuchal fold test. Teddy was just as obstinate when I had my u/s's - he would just lie on his belly and refuse to move. That was great for the amnio when we wanted him to stay still and as far away from the needle as possible, but really difficult for the tech who did the level 2 u/s to look at his different body parts. That is why I had to keep going back - he wouldn't move even when i ate a candy bar and drank fruit punch (hell, I was ready to dance from all the sugar!) and I even tried doing jumping jacks while I wa sin the bathroom. They had me move around from side to side, too. I said he is a heavy sleeper like his mom!

helene i use plum as a laxative and it has been working great. One in the mornign and one in the evenig. sometimes i need to stop eating it. But your cosntipation could be more seroius than that. I just can not believe you are still have M/s. well nothing that you can do just hang there. Why they did the annio? the results of the NT put you in higher risk ? I didn't have to do that with vanessa. i was almost 6 years yoounger . I will be scare about the annio thingy. But i am gald to know you had a good experience with it.
Kim, you cutie pie is getting big and seh is already beautiful. Thansk for the colace explanantion.
bye now.

Hi Ladies, I had written a big post, I dunno how it vanished. Anyhow, how are all of you doing? Zaida, congrats for the Nucal test. Glad to hear about it. When are you going to have the u/s done? How is your daughter doing? You have to help her with homework and all? Wao, Helene 30th week already. I can understand how tired you must get. How is Teddy? Is he kicking hard enough? Colace is a stool softner as Kim explained. I have bought one. It has no side effects and so it is safe. Kim, how is your health now? I saw Sierra's pics, what a cutie pie! So when abouts is she coming home? You must have bought more clothes according to her wt. How is the att_tude coming along with little princess? I am doing fine. On Tue I had the regular appt with the doc where they had found the BP a bit high 130 sopmething ? and protien in the urine. (how is yours Kim? I hear that it stays a bit high till 2 months and then goes away on it s own) I had been complaining about the headaches now from one month and my feet become like stone/wood that I can't feel them properly. Also little missy was moving less, so right away we wer told to go to the hosp and get Non Stress Test done, some blood work and u/s. All went well, blood tests no results yet, but for a moment we though thope she does not comes now. But I had prepared myself mentally. I am eating 6 tylenols, sudafed, and someother stuff to keep the headache at the bay, but no progress. I am not able to sleep with the headaches. So they monitored us Tue, Wed and Thur. Anyhow, baby is fine, she is moving now. Drama queen. b/c the u/s was the emergency one, so they would not give any info to us accept for that she is doing great. But the tech showed her thumb sticking out. Well, keep me updated and my next appt now is again on Tue. weekly now. Rest later, have a nice weekend and Helene Relax!!!!! You know my dad's car's number plate says Relax. Hugs for all of you and lots of flying kisses for baby Sierra.

Hola, Avi, Kim and Helene. I hope you had great weekend. It is hard to get up on Monday morning.. I have been very busy, with my cla__ses, the cleaning, dedicating time to Vanessa and all of that stuff. I know Helene is entering the 31 week, and Avi you are very close to have your baby. Can you repeat again when is your due date? I imagine how you feel, with your legs and the headache. I used to had terrible headaches, at the point that i was thinking that I had a tumor in my head. It was terrible. But I didn't have high blood pressure. My doctor said that is the amount of extra blood that sometimes produces the pain. Tell me when you get the results of your test, hopefully all o f those things will be over pretty soon.. Kim I wish little sierra is at home. Tell me is she at home? Is she sleeping well during the night? Does She go to bed at 10 and weak up at 7 ? ha,ha,ha bad joke Kim, i am sorry but i start to think about that . That is the only thing that I think I didn’t like it about the process. My nessy cryed all night for about two months. She stops that when I put her to sleep in her tummy. I know what the doctors think about that, but also in my country all the kids sleep in on the tummy and doctors think different. She looked like a turkey when she sleep in her tummy. Very cute. . . So Helene and Avi sleep as much as you can now, because if you are lucky the night thing can be about a month. Today I have doctor appointment, I will have the results of my blood screen test from last week and I will maybe hear the hart beat.

Hi! Avi - I posted a long one ythe other day, too and it also got lost. I honestly can't remember what the heck I postex! This was not a good wekend- I was sick throughout and yesterday I threw up twice.uGH! I slept so much because I was exhausted and I was still tired, Plus, it threw off my sleping pattren os badly that I was up all night and only got about 3 hours sleep. So I called in sick to work because I was so not funtcional. Ironically, today when I finally wake up, I wasn't sick for a change! (although I was queasy in the night and when I first woke up to call in my absence). Which was good, because I had to finally do the glucose test today and i was afraid that I would throw it up if i was too sick. ANywya, it didn't taste bad like so many people say - it reminded me of cheap orange punch or koolaid like I might have had at camp or girl scouts as a kid. Actually, it made me think of tang - don't know if any of you would know that - it was a big thing in the 60's and 70's - I am probably dating myself big time with that one! MY big news is that the baby's crib came on Sat and dh put it together - so cute! The changing table/dresser came today and when I got home from the test I saw that dh had opened the box, but hadn't put it together! LOL I guess when he saw all the pieces he figured it could wait until the weekend!

Oh yeah, and Saturday morning I woke up to go to the bathroom around 7 ish and I moved my recliner into the seated position (I try to move gradually to an upright position after sleeping so as to minimize the nausea) and I was so tired i fell back to sleep in that position. Well, when I woke up both feet had swelled - the right one was so big that I just barely got my shoe on (they are these sandals with two straps across the foot that I wear around the house because I can't go barefoot due to plantar fasciatis so it is not like they were tight shoes, either!). I was so freaked out! I am certain it was from sleeping in that position for two hours because I got back into the recliner (after finally going to the bathroom!) and after about an hour or two with my feet up, they went back to normal. So far they have been normal. I wil tell the doc about it tomorrow when I have my check up, but I think it was just a fluke.

Thanks Zay! Actually, the past two days have been very good and right now I feel great! Yesterday after I finally woke up I didn't feel nasueous and only a small amount of heartburn. Today, no nausea, but some minor heartburn near the end of the day that seemed like it could cause some vomiting if it got worse. I went to the doc for my last monthly check -up (now I am on 2 week visits) and I FINALLY remembered to ask about taking zantac (the doc had suggested taking it at my last visit, but my memory is so bad that I couldn't remember if it was zantac or something else and i was afraid to take it until I knew for sure). It was a different doc, but she said it was safe, so I took one when I got home and not only is the heartburn gone, but I don't have that nasty taste like I swallowed something that I am only barely keeping down. I haven't felt this good in ages! I am praying that this is not just a fluke, and that the zantac works, because like I told Avi, tums isn't doing it and it has been giving me a yukky after taste. Crossing my fingers! BTW - DH put together the changer/dresser combo and I was so excited to see it in the room. Tomorrow I am going to put some clothes in it and finish sorting through the clothes that my friend gave me from her son. My mom saw a small lingerie chest in WalMart that she said matched the furniture and I need to check it out to see if it fits in the room. The room is so small that I can only fit a narrow chest and a rocker/glider in with the crib and changer/dresser, and I couldn't find one in nursery furniture that was narrow enough, or else it was as expensive as the dresser and crib combined! And i am too cheap to spend that kind of money on one lousy piece of furniture that is only going to get banged up by a toddler eventually! LOL!

Helene, great news that you are feeling better, you need energies for the delivery. Oh my God!! Baby teddy is coming pretty soon. I am agree that expend a lot money in baby furniture is kind of a waste. Vanessa sleep in the crib for about 2 years. When we move the house we decided to buy her bedroom furniture. I picked something kind of expensive, and my idea was to get something that she will keep until she goes to college. Ha,ha,ha. I skipped the toddler beds and all of that. I bough a full bed with a twin bed underneath. I used to live in a town house with no bas____nt. Two floor and the rooms were small, except for mine. That was my first house. I bough it myself and I adored it. But even we were three, the house started to be small. My husband started working from home so one room became his office, and the other room kind of baby and guest room. We have guest for long periods of time so Vanessa never had a bedroom, and I wanted to do a nursery, and paint a room ad all of that and I didn’t have the opportunity at that time. Vanessa started filling the house with toys and the only thing that house didn’t have was storage place. I Change jobs and the real state market started getting crazy that we move out of the city to get a bigger place for less money. We did a great move. Now I have the space but I don’t have the impetus to do the nursery thing. So, nothing in the life is perfect. It may be because is my second child. I don’t know. But when I read your post about getting close, kim and avi I feel that I am miles away to have my baby. I close my eyes and I can almost feel the smell of the baby head. I tried to remember the first time that Vanessa smile to me, and what you feel you cannot describe it with words. It is a beautiful experience. So, get ready to this beautiful experience of being mom. I am to romantic today. Ha,ha,ha . I hope to hear about Kim and her experience with Baby Sierra.
How she feels when she have to give Sierra a bath. Wow, that was hard.

Hi Ladies, how is everyone doing? Helene good that you got all your furniture and setting it up now. Seriously, now is the time for you, since you work. I can't put my brain into anything. My bp is still high...it is all becoming like Kim. I have headaches and cramps, at points become unbearable. bp is around 142/80. same protien in the urine, so they monitor me. This Tue whole days I was at the hosp and going back again on Mon, so getting so tired, but the nurses are so good, they pamper the patiends a lot. My doc said this time tht he has never seen swelling like this, below my knees there is not shape, so Helene be carefull with the swelling and CTS. With swelling keep track of your headaches even if the BP is normal. Take as much rest as possible starting 8th month. Zaida, my due date is Oct 16th. It is a baby girl, we are thinking the name Diya right now, pronounciation is like Deeya. It means light. That is all from my side. How are you doing Zaida? Heartburn, I have given up on Tums long ago. Even Colace gets me bloated, so I have kept it at the back. I take milk in small quant_ties. at night in 9th montn heartburn kicks really hard. All I can say rest rest rest whenever you get the opportunity. Kim, I believe is busy preparing for little Sierra. I will post again. Helene, do you do the kick counts? Very important one. have a nice day, hugs, avi
