Hi Ladies, Howz it going? Thanks Zaida. I thinking Kim's baby Sierra is also now at home and I bet they are struggling as us for feeding.....and all. Diya is getting hungry every other hour and so it is becoming harder and harder to come on the net often. Helene, how are you and Teddy? Zaida, for itching if the doc gave you prescription rub it lightly if it is a cream for srue b/c only prescription cured my itchiness. I kind of sometimes felt that the cocoa b___ter also is not suitable for some pregnant women. Wish you and Helene all the best. I sometimes can't believe that I am a mom. Diya has given me such a beautiful gift -she made me mommy. She cries so loud and smiles while sleeping and sometimes make a little spout out of her lips. She keeps on sleeping, eating, pooping, peeing and mommy can't wait to play with her. She still has bit of a jaundice and my checkup is also going on. Things are falling in place finally. My mom is doing all the cooking. My DH is off for two weeks now. :)

Hi,ladies! Zay - A belated Happy Birthday to Vanessa! THta birthday party sounded like great idea. My sister had something similar for her daughter. She was moving at the time and there was no way she could do anything at her house. Amanda is only 2, so it was supposed to be just a couple of kids, but the pace made her guarantee 10 kids so she ended up having about 12 or 14. My itching is better thank you. I have been rubbing aloe vera gel on it which seems to dry it up and relieve it. The doctor said it is called pupp. Other than that and the reflux/nausea, tiredness and a seemingly endless need to pee, I am doing very well. Little Teddy is doing very well, too. I stayed home Friday because i had pains in my sitting bones which doc said is just the ligaments stretching. But I felt like i needed to get off my feet for a day. I do so much standing with the type of cla__ses I teach now, and like I said the other night, the chair was killing me! LOL! Avi - I can't believe all you had to go through with the birth. That doc who filed in for your doc sounded like a bit of a jerk - thank goodness the ER doc was so much better. If anyone had tried ot brush off my questions, especially with all those hormones raging I think I would have b__wn a gasket at him! You sound so happy! AS for the jaundice, my friend's daughter had that, too and she was three or four weeks early. Jaundice is no that uncommon. DId Diya get the little sungla__ses and sit under the "sun lamp"in the hospital? Another friend, Tracy , on the other link had her daughter early by c-section and she ha jaundice as well She went me a pic of the baby wearing these cute Little sungla__ses - I cracked up! She said they kept joking that the baby looked like she had been on her first vacation. How is Diya sleeping? Kim - how are things with you and Sierra? her last pics show that she is getting bigger and more beautiful. Can't wait to see pics of Diya soon.

Maybe it just felelout of style here in the states for a whie. Actually, A firend of mine who got married in her parents backyard (they had this huge house up in the mountains) had a pinata ta the wedding! SHe is Polisha nd her her dh German/Jewish/Greek, so it is not in their heritage. But she was a bilingula teacher in both Polisha nd SPanish so maye ther eis the connection.

Hi Ladies... Sorry I have not been on in a while but things have been so hectic around here. Sierra was having some BAD gas pain and was not sleeping at all. We were using the Avent bottle system which was suppose to be for colic and gas. However it seemed to be making her worse. My friend had bottles which she swore by and begged me to buy that type. They were the Dr. Browns bottles a little more expensive but OMG.... so worth it. Sierra finally can sleep for 3-4 hours at a time then eats. Stays up for 20 min. and goes right back to sleep. does not even need the mylicon gas relief drops anymore. You can see the diffence in the bottles. They have no air bubbles. I am now a big lover of the Dr. Brown bottles. So if any one is having trouble with gas with your little one definately try out the Dr. Brown bottles. Lets see... she is definately growing. She is now 4 lbs. 11 oz. not yet a pound more then when she came home from the hospital but almost there. I am looking forward to the 5 lb. mark for her. Avi... How is little Diya doing? I know the feedings can get hectic but it will get better. A schudele is your best bet. Sierra does so much better when we keep her on a schudele. Sometimes we vear off of it but for the most part we try and do bath at the same time each day. Bottle and play time (which is just laying on the bed with mommy and stareing at the toys i dangle in front of her) and the down to sleep. Hang in there Avi... the first few weeks are the hardest. Helene... how are you? How are you feeling? how far along are you now? how did your lamaze cla__s go? I didnt even get a chance to do that becasue I was put on bed rest. But with my next one I am going to do it early. Let me know how things are. Zadia... how are you doing? how far along are you now? How was vanessa's party? What kidn of stuff did you put in the pinata? When I was younger I remember my parents used to have it at every party. I loved it... my mother used to pack it full of candy and we all would jump into the falling candy... it was like every kids dream come true. Ok ladies... its feeding time for baby girl. Does anyone have instant messanger? Mine is knpandrews. Feel free to IM me as i usually leave it up and running during the day. hope all is well and that you all are hanging in there. XOXO hope to hear from you all.

Hi, Kim! THta is so funny that you said tha about the Dr. Brown bottles because my sister told me the same thing. Her daughter never had colic or gas - she barely burped! LOL! MY mom goes on and on about how amazing they are. I am trying to see if Dr. Brown has ones that are compatible with b___stfeeding. Lamaze went well - it was little of everything actually. IT was just the nurse, my sister and me, so it was very nice, but I felt really stupid when I had t breathe by myself. My sister is my labor coach because while Ted will be in the room, he is extremely squeamish and i figured this would be less terrifying fr him to be simply there for support. ANd if he needs to step out for a few minutes, he can. Plus, my sister never got to experience the delivery room because her daughter is adopted, so it is rally nice for all of us. ANd i have two of my favorite people ot abuse (two geminis, no less!). I have been feeling much better, but the nausea was starting up again and today I puked not once but twice, which I hadn't done in a few weeks (hadn't puked at al in a few weks that is). I gave in and took a zofran which I haven't done in months. Still had a yuk taste in my mouth all day, but at least I could keep food down finally. I am now 33 weeks, 3 days - can't believe it. The time is drawing near and I am having that omigod, wil we be ready feeling. especially when I think of you and Avi and how things can happen sooner than you expect!

Hi girls> Well Vanessa party was very nice. All the kids that we invite were there. 17 Kids, all of them are between five- six year old. She got a lot presents and she is having a very busy afternoons playing with her new toys. My Vanessa is just such a cute pie. She asked me to buy a red car from Pixar movie, Lightning McQueen, I think that is the name, for her birthday. She want to save it for her brother, I am so convinced that i am having a boy and I told that to her. So in her mind is a boy and she is worry that she doesn't have toys too share with him. I love her personality. Helene, I had that rash terrible around my b___st. I was looking in the forum what people did to calm the itching and I found a shampoo form Neutrogena that is called T-gel and it is for dandruff, psoriasis and something else , cure my rash in about three days. I rub the shampoo in the area , I was taking shower with cold water. Well as cold as you can tolerate. And them I dry off I put gold bond power. That was a very good sensation a relief. I did that two times at day, three days after that it was gone. But I still keep doing it because If you stop it may come back. I also during my lunch time I clean the are with a soap call Grandpas tar bar and the sale that soap at lWhole Foods Market. .
Talking about bottles, I 100% agree with Kim, Avent bottle are bad. I dislike them a lot. I bought them with Vanessa because they had sterilizer. I wasted my money. Don’t buy them.. I used Playtex, The bottle that is curved in the top. Kim that will be another alternative when baby Sierra is a little bit older. I guarantee you she won’t have gases with that one either. That bottle has a membrane with holes in the bottom and when baby suck, air comes inside through the holes. Most of preemies babies have problem with gases. My cousin son born a 34 weeks and it was terrible his gases, he cried a lot and I was helping her for the first week and the situation was driving us crazy, because we couldn’t do anything to make him feels better. Vanessa is 5 years old and she still is drinking milk on bottle. I tried since she was 7 months to switch to zippy cup and she never liked such things for her drinks. She wants straws and gla__ses for everything else but milk. And she called her milk TETE. Tetero is the name in Spanish/.Kim I always takes shower at night time and I got Vanessa in the same schedule. The last thing before she goes to bed is tae her shower. Over the years she got used to that and after her shower she gets tired and falls sleep in less than 15 minutes. I believe in schedules. I am today 17 weeks, two more weeks I will know the s_x of the baby. I am looking forward for that day. . Helene it seems your M/s never went away. I hope the zofran will help you in the last 6 weeks, you need to rest as much as you can because you need extra power and energies for baby teddy. . Take care girls.

Hi Kim, Finally heard from you. I have been wondering how is Sierra's wt. going on? Diya, caught up to her birth wt. in two weeks. I also agree that Avent bottles are not good. They leak a bit and creating too much gas for my daughter also. Curved ones are good. I latch on Diya for one hour on my b___sts and she still feels hungry, so I give formula. Her feed is about every two hours. I love her little smiles. She pushes very hard with her feet and has no patience when hungry. Helene, how is little Teddy doing? How is the health doing for you and Zaida? Zaida, glad to hear about Vennessa b'day. It is nice how she thinks that she has no toys for a little boy. Cute! Kim, I agree that the first monthis so hard. My BP is still high, but all the swelling almost gone and I have lost all the pregnancy wt. Actually, I did not gain much either. However, I am trying to eat a lot to keep up with my calories for b___stfeeding. I am not sure that for long I will do the b___stfeeding though. Zaida, cool you will find gender in another two weeks. Helene, at 34 weeks onwards really take rest as much as you can. I agree with you that sometimes things come so unexpectedly all the sudden that we really have to be prepared to handle. I can't still believe your nausea...my heartburn...all stomach upsetting stuff went away the moment Diya was born. Rest later, all the best.

I am glad that everything with baby Diya is going good. I am pretty sure you can wait a minute to play with her. Avi I tried to breasfeed Vanessa but it hurted a lot. I was producing a lot milk. It was way to gross to describe it. When I came home from the hospital I didn’t have the pump. SO I figured that putting her directly to my b___st was enough. I didn’t have enough nipple so she couldn’t suck anything and she started to be hungry and it was terrible night. Next day my husband rent a pump for a month. Meanwhile, my b___st doubled on size and started bleeding. Oh my God, it was terrible. I got fever. I try to feed her with formula while I gain control of the situation with me b___st. What a bad luck she he reacted to the formula,. First time mom I just want to cry. Finally i get milk with the help of the pump and I filled lot bottles of 4 ounces. It was a lot milk to feed triplets. I discovered that when Vanessa was sucking from my b___st the feeding time was about two hours. She spent at least 30 minutes sucking. Then you try to get the gases out and got clean your self change her diaper a guess what?? It is time to feed her again. When I pumped and gave the milk with a bottle she was eating in about 10 minutes and the next feeding was in about 3 ½ hours. She was having 3 ounces the first two days at home, the she went to 4 ounces and in about three weeks she increased to 6 ounces and she keep the 6 ounces until she got 6 months old more less. My milk was thicker than regular milk and I was producing more than she could eat. SO save it in the refrigerator and I could see cream in the top. I ask to my pediatrician about that and he said that my milk seems to be very nutritious. I b___stfeed her until she was 4 moths old and my body stop producing by itself. Also, I notice when I was eating a lot protein I was producing more milk. I keep drinking lot fluids also. . She was a big girl, 23 inches 9 pounds and she was wearing 3 to 6 months cloth in about two weeks. The umbilical cord felt out after 28 days. God it too to long. It seems that the baby that I am having may be big too is measuring a week older . It was nice to remember all of this. It was about 5 years ago and I still remember everything..... My mom is with me now and it is a big help. She helps me with Vanessa and she cooks the dinner so I can spend more time with Vanessa and her phonics..... Avi, I wish you can share pictures of baby Diya with us. Kim how is baby Sierra doing? How is her weight gain?..... I hope you guys enjoy the winter day today. It was 36 F this morning. Way too cold for this tropical girl… Take care ..

HI Zaida, Thanks for a lot of info on the b___stfeed. I am 90% feeding b___st milk, but yes as u described, I feed her for like 40 min. Sometimes she falls asleep inbtwn. Give her burp, make her comphy ...she is having too much gas....she is farting these days, diaper change, put her to sleep and in another 40min she cries for more milk. After 40 min feed, if she cries for more milk, I give her formula, then she takes half oz to one oz. But I am not having milk you told me. I am not having very thick milk. I am producing very little milk also. So I am worried. I want to feed her for atleast 6 months, but not sure. I wish I have milk like yours though. i will try to eat more protien. my other friends told me to increase garlic in my diet. Zaida, give me your e-mail address, so that I can send u Diya's pics. Take Care for now. So, is your itching totally gone? I guess in another week you will find out, if it is a boy or a girl. This time is your mom going to come for help during delivery? My mom is over and I am getting all the help that I need. She took three weeks off from her work only for us. I really don't know how to thank her. On Oct 10th, it was my parents 30th wedding anniversary, so my dad flew from Canada to meet us all. Well, take care dear. bye for now!

Avi - To get more b___st milk you need to b___stfeed more. I would not supplement with the formula at this point if you are having a hard time produicing milk becaues the more you b/f the more it stimulates the b___sts to produce more milk. Or if you are going to give her formula, then pump during those in between times so you get the stimulation to increase the milk supply. There is a good site called www.kellymom or I believe the la leche leauge site to give you more info. But htat is what I have read in baby books, on the kelly mom sit and online, and what my friend, who is the b/f fanatic and guru has told me. Good luck! Also - Zaida has my e-mail so she can pasit along to you if you would be so nice as to send me pics of little Diya, too! I bet she is beautiful!

Avi, keep trying to stimulate your milk production when you are feeding baby Diya with formula. At leat you are lucky and Diya doesn't get rash or react to the formula. Helene is right. I hope i will have the same amount this time, but understand each pregnancy is diferent.
I tryed to put Vanessa inmy b___st t=one night when i couldn't keep myself awake and she was crying for food and i couldn't move. That happen like two times in the the begining. I was thinking i was easy if i am in the bed while she is sucking , but she was to lazy to suck hard and she didn't like so i pumped my milk all the times. That is boring after a while because you have to be at home or in aprivcate place where you plug the pump and then i was washing and sterilizing the pump attachments. Feeding directly form the b___st may be more convinent but they suck less. Avi my email is zlujano@hotmail.com i look ofrward to see your princess.
