Hi Lisame, Thankx for all the info. Kim and I have stopped using the progesterone about two weeks ago. My doc told me in the 8th week itself to go off progesterone. Yes, but it does help I think. Thanks again

Hi Kim and Helen, I am soooooooo relieved. It was a good day yesterday. Kim, I will be there for you just before your appointment. Thanks for all the support really! By letting my feeling know, it really helps. I went to the office and the doc showed up about 50mins later in the room. Meanwhile, I was so quiet and lost in my own thoughts. I had to talk about some other stuff like plans for this weeken to my DH, but could not talka at all. doc then did the u/s and everything was as it should be. Baby was moving so fast. Baby looks like a baby now. Baby's head was down though, I wonder it that is okay. So everything was good. Thanks for the support again. Helen, let us know about yor appt. For the headaches, all the doc said that Tylenol is fine. Take Care and have a nice day. P.S. Kim I am going to try the Cabbage Soup now. Thanks

OH Avi... I am so glad that all went well. I could imagine how it was for you yesterday waiting in the room. It was that was when I was just waiting 10 min for the doc at my last appt. I am glad that all went well though. I know that you are so happy and it should relieve some of your fears now that you are over 12 wks. I am still nauseas every day pretty much just a half of day now. Its from the time I wake til about 3-4 pm. Its terrible but I am so thankful to be pregnant. Helene how did you appt. go? Looking forward to hearing back from you both. Oh yeah... avi did you get a sono pic?

Hi Avi... Did you get a chace to order your fetal heart monitor. I was thinking about ordering mine today from babybeat.com My husband and I looked into it and we both agreed to do it. I am however a little nervous about what happens if i can not find the beat. I will drive myself nuts. Any thoughts?

sanjavi77 - April 6

Hi Kim, we also took a look at the fetal heart rate monitor. I would really like to order it, but I think now that 12weeks are over, we have only 1% of danger, which remains through out the pregnancy for any woman. One of my friend could not find the heartbeat in her 6th month and she felt no movements that day either, then she rushed to ER, there they gave her orange juice to drink, with that the baby moved and she could hear it there clearly. I wish I could take away yuor nausea. I was also thinking last night I am sooooooo glad that I am pregnant. This is one of the best period of my life. I am a little busy till Sat. Tomorrow I am meeting my friends from work. So I will send you the pic for sure by Sun. I have to have an advice on something. Let me know, if I am being imature or silly. My husband's friend's wife's baby shower is this Sat. My DH's this friend is very nice to me and always talks with respect, but his wife is with such an att_tude. She doesn't drive, I have been driving her to some places and going to the mall. I had compromised for small smmal things b/c small things don't matter to me. Later when I started to work, she would not even call and one day her husband and she asked to e-mail my resume b/c she is also a graduate in biotech. I said, pls come home, we will have dinner together and I can show it to you then. After then no contact, no phone call. It had been 6 months in Jan 2006 since her DH called and shared that she is pregnant. I was in the waiting period at that time. I kind of felt very bad how she was there a lot with me and then not even a single phone call to share her good news. Seriously, I wopuld have been happy for her. I was hurt a lot. But I let it go as my pregnancy grew. So this weekend is her babyshower in 9th month. I told my DH that since your friend is very nice and he talks to me nicely also, I leave the decision upto you, but I kind of don't want to go. Not once, but this must be like sixth time I am feeling like this from her. It is jsut when she got married, she had no friends, so I gave her company. I squeezed out time from my own shedule, but sometimes she answers back very immaturely not thinking how her comment would make others feel???Before marriage her DH was with us a lot for dinner, games whatever. But everthing changed. So let me know, if I don't go is that being too immature. Howevr, I have decided that once her baby arrives, I will go see her baby, ask for any help and give a gift for the baby. I don't hate her, but b/c I am sensitive, i got hurt sometimes. But for now, I don't feel like going. Is this being immature? What would you do, if you were in this situation? Sorry, I usually don't do this, but her DH is nice, so I am in dilemma. Sorry, again. Have a nice day!

Hi! Ladies! Sorry I haven't posted ina while. I have been so beta at night that I have only posted on the one site. I missed my appt on Tues because the car died on the way! Long story that I will tel later. I had my rescheduled u/s today and there was a baby and heartbeat and all! The tech measured me at 6w 4d (although if I got by exact numbers from LMP I would have said 6w 6d) and sadi the hb was 120 bpm and told me that was good for where I am at. She then turned up the heartbeat so I could hear it! I then went downstairs to the doc who looked my chart over and said that everything is right where it should be at, and ot keep taking the progesterone. I was so happy that I was halfway home before I realize he hadn't told me the updated hcg & progesterone numbers. I am going ot call for that tomorrow. I am so happy (but of course still cautious, especially as tomorrow starts 7 weeks and that is when I miscarried on last pregnancy). Thanks ladies for asking about me. I will respond to your posts tomorrow when I am more awake! Just one quick response - glad to hear everything went well with your appt Avi. Good luck at yours Kim. And no, Avi, I don't think you are being petty or rude or anything - it sounds like you gave this woman an awful lot of yourself as it is and she really didn't respond in kind. Take care ladies!

Helene - April 6

Oh yeah, I have been nauseous every moringin this week, especially today. ANd last night I wore my bra to bed to be more comfortable!

sanjavi77 - April 7

Yeah!!!!!!!Helene, I am so happy to see the good news. did you get a pic? I will post mine soon. Good luck with the nausea. I hope it does't become like Kims. She is really suffering, since morning till evening. Kim how much wt. have you gained since the conception? Helene, 120bpm at 6 weeks is awesome. When is your next appt? Mine is 25th Apr, after three weeks and then the next week I have to go for AFP checkup. I get the result in after couple of weeks. That is also another scary part. As for now, I am soooo happy. Helene, if your nausea is in the morning, then eat few crackers it might help. Take Care and have a nice weekend.

Hello Ladies... How are you? Lets start with Avi. I would do what your heart tells you in reference to the baby shower. This lady does seem like a user and she only thinks about her self. Going to her baby shower is a decision that is soley based on what you feel is necessary. Maybe a quick stop by to bring a present and say congrats and then leave might be better then not going at all. Or maybe just bring the present when she does give birth. But you are not bound to go to her shower and you need to do what you feel right doing. If it was me, i would just drop by quickly or... simply call, say congrats and bring a gift another time. Lets see... As far as weight gain, I have lost 9 lbs. since i concieved. But you cant go by me. Havent really been able to hold down food or liquids until recently. As for weight gain for the entire pregnancy the doc is aiming for 15 -20 lbs. That is my original goal so that made me happy. AFP test is to check for the downs right? My doc spoke with us about that and asked us what we would do if our child was diagnosed with downs. I told him that no matter what I would have this baby and I would not even have a second thought about it. So the doc says in a case like that... that he does not do the AFP test because its not needed. Helene, I am so glad things went well for you. I am sorry that you have been getting morning sickness, however... here are a few tricks. Ginger tea or pepermint tea works well. Sucking on pepermints during the day and if you do throw up... quickly replenish with a cup of gatorade filled with ice. Also, sucking on ice during the day helps a great deal as well. And be careful with crackers if you are constipated. They will make it worse. Anyways, I am gonna finish up my work and call it a day. Hope to hear from you all soon. xoxo

knpandrews - April 7

Oh and I received my doppler today and I can not find the heartbeat. I know deep in my heart it may be to early but this is what i was afraid of. Hopefully when i try tomorrow morning I will be able to find it.

Helene - April 7

Hi! Thanks so much both of you. Today was a good day - no nausea but I did develop heartburn. I have the strange feeling that I am going ot have either of the two on any given day. Thanks for the m/s tips. Especially about the crackers and constipation. I am almost never constipated because I have IBS so I usually have the exact opposite problem. However, today I am (and have been a little eon and off) and between that and some gas that also doesn't seem to want to let me be I have been having some pains. At first they made me nervous but then I realized they mostly gas and the constipation. I found that lemonade was kind of good, and it's funny, Kim, but I was wondering about peppermint this morning, because I saw a peppermint snapple and almost bought it except for the caffeine and wondering if there was any bad effect of peppermint during pregnancy. It is so weird that so many herbs that are fie when you are not preggo can be an issue when you are, so I am always afraid to have anything herbal unles I chek it out first. I think I am going to buy some mints to keep in my purse just in case. Avi - what did you decide about that baby shower. I think Kim had some very good advice. I was reading back about what you guys were saying about the fetal monitors, and Kim, it is funny thta you said the same thing that I worried about - would I freak out if I suddenly didn't hera a heartbeat? I used to be such a laid back kid and 20-something-year-old, but I swear I have become such a worry wort since I hit my mid-thirties. Avi - my next appointment is right after yours - the 27th. My mother wanted to know if I was ready to start telling peopel now that there is a heartbeat, but i said I wanted to wait until at least 8weeks. Today is technically the start of week 7, and that is when I lost the last pregnancy. I told her I might wait until the appointment as then I will be nearly 10 wks. Or just hold out until 12 weeks as the original plan went. DH was very cautious when I ave him the news - just said, yes, but isn't that what they said last time? He is a born pessimist, and i know it is his way of protecting himself in case something goes wrong again, so I didn't take the wrong way. He has lost quite a few family members in his time, so he tends to be very guarded in that way. Okay, ladies, have a great weekend! Good luck with the baby shower. Take care!

sanjavi77 - April 8

Hi Helen and Kim, How are both ofyou doing? Kim, I think, in the beginning it is hard to find the heartbeat sometimes. My doc checks with the fetal heartrate monitor...way toooooo low, let's say just above the v____a on the left hand side. This time, he could not find the heartbeat himself for long time.. We heard just four times and then again we lost it. he said cz the baby sometimes sleeps or moves a lot. try again and let me know. all the best. Now, that we have started almost our second trimester, your nausea might decrease a bit. Fifth month I think u will have some relief that is what my friends told. Helene, I take two Tums everyday for the heartburn. I tis okay and it is a very good source of Ca also,. 9lb Kim? Same with my another friend, she had lost 10lb in her first trimester. I have gained 4-5lb, so it is okay. However, I need to gain about 15-20 throughout my preg, so this way, I need to workout. Thanks a lot for the advice. Yesterday, I had gone to meet my friends. It was the first sunny day out here, so we decided to sit outside, and we sat and sat and talked. Later at night I developed leg pain and headache. That day whenI had gone for my appt, doc had mentioned that I have sinusitis and also my root ca___l is pending. I have toothache also and a headache that is going diagnoly from my eye, eybrow. I took two Tylenols, there is some relief, but there is toothache and right leg cramp still. Really, I think I made a mistake by sittin outside or I got too tired b/c later I went for a walk, grocery shopping and all. So too tired today to do any other activities. I think, as per Kim's advice, I would have gone for like one hour or so for the baby shower, but it is 10am already, I don't feel like getting up. I asked my DH, he said he did not get a chance to talk tohis friend and it is okay, we won't go today. Cozy bed and laptop are doing good for me right now. My doc's office is closed otherwise I wanna ask him, abut the rootca___l, if anything can be done. Why am I such a fool. I ke pt working day and night and did not squeeze time out for it. It is my fault only. have a nice weekend Ladies. Any cravings/aversions Helene? What about you Kim? You know it is funny, but I crave the burrito from my college.

Helene - April 9

Hi, AVi! I have all sorts of weird fleeting cravings that often last only for a few minutes. Go figure! But I have some tha stick around. Like i was craving fried rice for days. Another weird craving that would come out of nowhere was yellow cake (from the cake mix) with chocolate pudding drizzled on it. Go figure! I had that one on and off for weeks, and finally made the stupid cake last night. I kept having a lot of protein type cravings, and then switched to sweet cravings, but they are so all over the map and usually so brief that I only indulge them once in a while. But thta cake one was driving me nuts! And most of them I can have, although I did one day have a huge craving for sushi which just depressed me because i knew I couldn't have that (only the California rolls or the eel). Your college burrito story cracked me up. Where did you go to college? (if you don't mind my asking).

sanjavi77 - April 10

Hi Helen, more cravings are yet to come. How was your weekend? Any nausea/heartburn? How was the cake that you baked? Take lots of rest during yur first trimester. Also, prepare a list of questions when you see your doc next time. It helps. How have you been feeling oherwise? I had a lot of cramps, but it is normal cuz the uterus streches. Try not tto worry a lot. Relax and have a nice day!

sanjavi77 - April 10

HI Kim, Howdy? Just wanting to knw how you are doing? did you try the fetal monitor again? Take care sweetheart!

knpandrews - April 10

Hi Ladies... Sorry it has been a few days since I have responded. I have had my good days and my bad days. Each day differs. Mostly I have nauseas from 8am to about 3 pm. But the things that is driving me nuts is the saliva. Do either of you have this? I have been salavating like crazy. To the point where I gag. I read that its normal but everyone that i have spoken to says they dont have it. I am usually sucking on pepermints and or ice cubes but I am starting to think there is no light at the end of this tunnel. I am still unable to find the heartbeat with the doppler but, I am sticking with the motto of the more morning sickness you have that it proves you have a healthy pregnancy. Atleast I hope so. I keep thinking that deep down inside I know everything is ok but a piece of me keeps thinking what happens if something is not right. Today I had a craving for some fresh made sorbet. But I didnt want to stand there and make it so I went across the street and got some rainbow sorbet. So good... but made me feel so sick. I dont know what else I can do. I wish I could hold down real food. I am 13 wks. tomorrow and begining to wonder whats my destiny with this pregnancy and morning sickness. Well Ladies... hope all is well. Looking forward to hearing from you.
