Hi Ladies... Sorry it has been a few days since I have responded. I have had my good days and my bad days. Each day differs. Mostly I have nauseas from 8am to about 3 pm. But the things that is driving me nuts is the saliva. Do either of you have this? I have been salavating like crazy. To the point where I gag. I read that its normal but everyone that i have spoken to says they dont have it. I am usually sucking on pepermints and or ice cubes but I am starting to think there is no light at the end of this tunnel. I am still unable to find the heartbeat with the doppler but, I am sticking with the motto of the more morning sickness you have that it proves you have a healthy pregnancy. Atleast I hope so. I keep thinking that deep down inside I know everything is ok but a piece of me keeps thinking what happens if something is not right. Today I had a craving for some fresh made sorbet. But I didnt want to stand there and make it so I went across the street and got some rainbow sorbet. So good... but made me feel so sick. I dont know what else I can do. I wish I could hold down real food. I am 13 wks. tomorrow and begining to wonder whats my destiny with this pregnancy and morning sickness. Well Ladies... hope all is well. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Oh one more thing... Helene how do you make a pudding dripped yellow cake. My husband would go nuts over that. :) And Avi... do you still have that minor cramping? I still have it.

Hi, ladies! First off Kim - the cake is so easy. You make a yellow cake (plain old cake mix) and when it is baked you take the opposite end of a wooden spoon and punch holes into the the top of the cake (al the way down). Then you make instant chocolate pudding and pour it on top of the cake so the pudding drips into the holes. I think you can cut the cake into layers first and do this to the bottom layer and then place the top layer on it and frost that top layer. I didn't bother - just let the pudding be the "frosting" on top. ANd I threw two handfuls of chocolate chips into the cake batter before I baked it which was even better. AS to the whole morning sickness thing - it sucks. I am in better shape with it than you I think, Kim, but i am still miserable most of the morning. I teach and for the first 5 periods I am mildly nauseous. What sucks is that my schedule is split so on odd days i have lunch 4th per and even days I have it 6th. My 5t period kids are so used to me eating my lunch in front of them half the time thta it is like a joke now. They have lunch 4th,so the one kid said, that's okay, you had to watch us eat all last period, so its' only fair (when I don't have lunch 4th,I have cafeteria duty). I cracked up. They are really good kids. Yesterday was a good day becaus I am home this week so I can spread out my meals in tiny little servings. Like yesterday I woke up and had a hard boiled egg before the nausea set in bad. Then an hour later, had a piece of cheese, Then later on had 1/4 cup of yogurt with fruit & granola. Then later on had 1/2 cup of spaghetti with a meatball. Then later on another small piece of cheese. This kept the nausea very, very mild. And I was sucking on altoids per your peppermint suggestion (although I think smelling them actually seems to help me more!). Today I kept waking up all morning from about 5 am on (went to the bathroom) and I would suck on a saltine until it just dissolved. I ate about six of them total. Ate the last 2-3 one right after the other right before I got up and just sat n bed for about 20 mins. until I felt better. I just ate a pb&j sandwich and I feel fairly good. (but that nausea's always seems to be lurking in the distance even when I feel good - do you know what I mean?). I have a friend on the other site who is 16 weeks and is still getting sick, although less often. She was miserably sick early on like you are., and said the same thing - when will this end? Avi - I haven't had the pms like cramps in a day or two now, but i do have some minor cramps thta I chalk up to either gas or the uterus stretching - eve though my neurotic self worries, my gut says nothing wrong. I was so constipated two days ago and had a good deal of cramping from it which freaked e out as Friday was exactly week 7, and last time I was bleeding at that time and was in the ER at 7w 2d and m/c thta evening I think. Today is 7w 4d, which makes me feel somewhat better, but I am really on eggs until Friday when I hit 8 wks. Then I will let out a small sigh of relief as thta is another milestone down. (how many more to go? ha,ha!). Anyway. yesterday found out the results from my last blood test 2 Fridays back *the day I turned 6w). The hcg was 26, 469 (which the nurse said was excellent) and the progesterone as 15.3. I would have been happier if the progesterone had climbed as high as yours did after the supplements, but hey, I will take 15.3 (after 4 days of supplements) over 10.3 any day!

Hi Ladies... How are you? I hope you both are ok. Hope you had a great Easter weekend. I had my doc. appt. today and he did a 14 wks. scan and was able to tell me that all looked well. Heartbeat still around 150 bpm and that the baby is growing nicely. Now that I am in the second trimester, its starting to get real and scarey to. But he told me that I am less then 1% chance of M/C and that makes me a little less ancy but still nervous. I still have m/s all day til about 3pm or so but hopefully it will go away soon. I hope both of you are ok. Let me know how u guys are and know i am thinking about you.

Hi Kim,
Glad to hear about your ultrasound. 150bpm is cool. Mine comes around 160bpm. I was reading that high heartbeat means girl and towards lower side is a boy. However, docs say it is like flipping coins. I am so sorry as I could not come on the net. I was not feeling well. Jsut some congestion and weekends went extremely busy. My niece is here for her spring break vacation. She is 6 and like to visit us during her spring/summer break. She has come w/o her parents, so it is full time job with a kid. She is the first kid for me in my family. I am the oldest from myside family. My DH's sis is the older from their side. My niece is my DH's sister's daughter. Anyhow, I promise I will scan the pic. My heartburn has decreased a lot. I am having cool, relaxing days, jsut except from some minor headache, mood swings and cold. I am sending my cool dust towards you. I hope yuor nausea fades soon. Oh, today our fetal heart monitor arrived and we searched for like few minutes and then we found the heartbeat of 160/162bpm. How is yours for ya? Wishing more enjoyable pregnancy days for ya. sorry again for not coming very often. Good Night. zzzzzzzzzzz

Hi! Tomorrow I am 9 wks. Glad to hear you ladies are doing so well. I haven't been posting much because I have been so tired. I was off last week, but went back to school on Tuesday and am EXHAUSTED. The nausea picked up again on and off, and on Monday and Tuesday of this week I puked while brushing my teeth in the morning. yesterday was much better and today I felt really good - even ate breakfast! I bought these sea bands that go on your wrists using acupressure so we will see if they work. Thanks for asking! Kim - so glad that your appointment showed everything was okay. I have an appointment next week (Thursday) and I hope for equally good news. Avi - I have four nieces - they are really adorable, but wow, watching a 6-year old full-time for a week is a a lot of work. But boy are they cute. One of my neices is that age and she is a pistol. that is really neat about the fetal monitor picking up the heartbeat. How far along do you have to be for it to do thta?

Hi Helene, It is so nice that you are in your 9th week. I think the fetal doppler starts to work near about in 10th week, but it depends what kind of fetal doppler we have. I ordered the one from hibebe. I am in my 14th week and still it is hard to find the heartbeat. It takes foerever. Fetal doppler from WalMart works only after 5th month. What is that seaband I dunno? How is your health now a days? take care.

HI Kim, Looks like you are also very busy these days> How are you doing? I wonder how is your nausea? I think for sure it will subside in another two to three weeks. Do you use your fetal doppler ? I agree it is sooooo hard to find the heart beat. I am doing fine also. I also think on and off about you and helene and wonder how things are going on. Have a nice weekend1

Hi, Avi! Thanks for the info about the fetal monitor. Sea bands are these wristbands that light pressure on this point on the inside of your wrist thta is supposed to help reduce the nausea - basically it is acupressure. I tried them yesterday, but I don't know if it actually made much of a difference. One of my students raised his hand asked me why I was wearing the sea bands. I was like, d__n, I should have known this kid would know what these were. Whenever I talk about different places in history he is alwyas like, oh yeah, we went there on vacation two years ago - his family travels a great deal. SO no surprise he is aware of a seas sickness remedy. I told him it wasn't sea bands, just something that looked like them that helped my carpel tunnel syndrome. He was satisfied with tha response but I bet he went home and told his mom I was wearing them..She is on the school board, and probably just smiled to herself and said hmmm, let's see if we get a maternity leave request from that teacher in a few months!

Hi Ladies... Oye, have i been busy. Between the morning sickness still and the entertaining of friends that are visiting i have just about time to lay in bed. Not that I sleep because i still get up several times a night. Lets see last night i got up 6 times. I actually very annoying because i have not had a good night sleep in months. As for the morning sickness. I am still VERY nauseus in the morning from when i get up and start walking around til about 3-4 pm. doc says that its my own fault because i wont take any meds. Of course he is only kidding but he says as long as it is managable he is not going to make it mandatory for me to take it. However, he is going to allow me 2 more wks of it and then he is going to make it mandatory because he said its not healthy for my system to be throwing up the way I am like this. But honestly, I just think I am better off with out the meds. mentally it makes me feel better when I get sick because deep down inside i know all is well. I still have not been able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler but i know there is one because of my appt. on tues. I have a friend who was not able to find it til the end of her 5th. So Avi... have you start to show at all. I have a lump the side of a small melon right below my belly b___ton about 1 1/2 inches down. Its my uterus according to the doc. I am starting to grow out of my clothes and have invested in some maternity clothes but have not worn them other then a shirt or to because i did not want to do laundry. :) Helene... How have you been feeling? Hang in there darlin. You seem to be doing nicely. How do the seabands work for you. THey didnt do a thing for me but thats because mine was is so drastic. Well ladies... sorry it had taken me a while to get back with you. But now things have calmed down. :) hope to hear back. xoxoxo

Hi Kim and Helen,
How was the weekend for both of you? Mine was hectic. My niece's parents had come to pick her up from SFO. My sis-inlaw's inlaws had also come for the weekend. So around 4PM, I took a nice nap. I woke up with my snoring. I thought better to wake up, otherwise at night, I might become an owl. Already, as Kim you are saying...I go about 3 three times for sure to the restroom. It is hard for me to fall asleep again. These days I start to wonder, if the baby is moving/sleeping and then suddenly I start praying for baby's well-being. Helene, when is your next appt. with the doc. Mine is Apr 25th/Tue. Kim, I am not sure if this time the doc is going to do the u/s or not, bt I will send you my u/s pic for sure. Was your baby moving during your u/s Kim? Yup, only two streching pants fit me and my T-shirts. I am gonna buy maternity clothes in 5th month. but I did buy comfortable fitting underwear of two size bigger than mine. I had bought couple of PJ's with a string to tie instead of an elastic. Since, I am not working now, so these are doing good for me. Mid May I am planning to go to Canada for about 10 days to meet my parents. Nothing else is new. Just hate the headaches. Kim, are you gonna find out the gender? My doc said we will know in the 18th week. I think I am gonna skip it. I think right now, but it could be very tempting. Let's see how much patience I have ;-). Kim, I hope your nausea subsides in two more weeks and Helene, take care and enjoy. First week of May my DH and I are finally going to annouce about pregnancy. A lot of my friends don't know yet. I can't wait to share our happiness. What about you guys? Take Care and have a nice week ahead!

Hi Avi... Just wanted to wish you luck on your appt. today. I hope that all goes well. At my appt. last week, the doc did not do a ultra sound internally because he did a whole pap check and all the other great tests that they do. He did do a sonogram on my belly and we were able to see the head and the heartbeating but thats about it because he didnt want to effect the out come of the pap he said. I got my pap results back yesterday and all were negative. (which is good), I had to go for some tests yesterday as well... I sat at the lab for almost 2 hours. He sent me for an early gestational diabetes tests because that runs in my family, he send me for a chem pannel and a complete blood work up, a urine a___lysis and a thyroid test. He is very thorough, i dont mind... but that was alot of blood they took and the diabetes check was no fun either. They made me drink a orange solution sit there for an hour and then they took my blood again. It was horrible. Anyways, i hope to get those results back within 2 days or so. Helene, how are you feeling? how are the bands working for you? I am still sick from am to pm but I can manage it now and I know when i am gonna get sick. I guess after 2 months of this, u become a pro. LOL. I hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Well ladies, I should get going. Avi... let me know how things go for u today. I am sure everything will go wonderful. Hope to hear from ya soon. xoxo

HI Helene and Kim, thanks for the good luck. My doc's appt. went fine. No u/s or sonogram done. He just measured my belly with an inchitape, checked the heartbeat ...it was 140 approx. He said sometimes the baby is sleeping. Everything seemed very healthy. I have to go for my big blood work including AFP. In California it is mandatory, but as patient we can decline it also. Then in the 18th week ultrasound will be done and doc said it takes about an hour. These days when I get up in the morning, my hands really burn and my fingers go numb. so I am advised to wear splints at night. that is all for today's appt. Yes, Kim the diabetes test is time consuming and fasting is worse. Wish you all the best. Hopefully, your nausea will decrease in the 5th month. Helene, how ae you doing. Probably, busy with work and all. Kim, when was your LMP? Mine was Jan 2nd, but my cycles are 33 days apart. Helene, let us know what's up with you lately. Enjoy & Take Care girls.

Hi Kim, Howdy? I forgot to mention about the fetal doppler. I asked my doc about it and he said that once in a week is fine to check for the heart beat, but just don't over do it. Take care gals. When is your next u/s appt? Bye for now.
